We chose the name Banksia for our practice because of its remarkable ability to regenerate after exposure to bushfires. Similarly, we view therapy as a transformative process, where individuals can grow, reflect, and develop their capacity to overcome life's challenges.

Our services are available to adolescents (16 ) and adults, and can be accessed either in person at our Warilla location or through telehealth sessions conducted via phone or Zoom. We take a person-centered and genuine approach to therapy, ensuring that your experience is meaningful and collaborative.

At Banksia Psychology & Supervision, we have expertise in working with a range of presenting difficulties. We are particularly passionate about providing support in the perinatal period for birthing parents, their partners, and infants. Using evidence-based and attachment-informed approaches, we assist families during conception, pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenting.

Our Practice Co-Director, Mathew, is a Psychology Board-approved Supervisor with extensive experience in providing supervision services. He can assist mental health professionals with difficulties relating to relationships, attachment, sexual health, and overall well-being.

We also specialize in supporting individuals during the transition to parenthood and in raising children. Our attachment-based parenting assistance, informed by the principles of Circle of Security, helps parents navigate the joys and challenges of this important role.

Furthermore, Mathew has experience in providing mental health support to males across the lifespan. He is particularly interested in the intersection of mental health and gender roles, offering guidance to men in managing distress and effectively meeting their emotional and relational needs.

Our team of psychologists also understands the unique challenges and anxieties faced by adolescents and young adults. With our own personal experiences of this life stage, we provide a genuine and non-judgmental space for young individuals to work through their concerns.
