This institution, run by John and his wife Carolyn, is proud to be a part of the artistic diversity of the region. You can find them operating from the Artisans of Australia Gallery space in Drysdale.
At John McAleer Handcrafted Jewellery, creating unique and personalized pieces for your special moments is what we love to do. With years of experience, John has crafted countless amazing pieces for many families, including the iconic 'MasterChef Immunity Pins' for the Australian hit television show. Now, he brings his expertise to the people of the Bellarine Peninsula.
When you choose John McAleer Handcrafted Jewellery, you can expect a collaborative and personalized experience. John will work closely with you to design and create your special piece, bringing your vision to life. If you have existing Jewellery, whether it's something personal or a family heirloom, John can incorporate it into a brand new piece. This allows you to have a further emotional connection to your commissioned piece, as it carries the history and sentiment of your own Jewellery.
In addition to our custom design services, we also offer an exciting opportunity to learn from John himself. You can enroll in an ongoing 6-week short course where you will create three bespoke pieces in our well-equipped workshop. These pieces will be yours to take home upon completion. This course not only teaches you the art of jewellery making but also provides insights into what it takes to be a working jeweler and potentially set up your own bespoke creative business.

"I went to john with an old rose gold necklace and asked him if i could use it to make a ring. We sat a discussed my options and he showed me some designs. I decided on a style and went back to collect it a few weeks later. Due to my poor communication i was not totally happy with the design. But John was so polite and understanding about he then had to remake the ring and did not bat an eyelid...he was only too happy to help. Anyway i have literally just picked the new ring up and could not be happier it is beautiful. He is an excellent jeweller and i will be recommending him highly.
