Welcome to Lara Childcare Centre | Journey Early Learning! Located at 41 Rennie Street in Lara, Australia, our warm and friendly early learning centre is dedicated to inspiring adventure and cheer in your little explorer.

At Journey Lara, we believe in the power of play-based learning. Our centre is designed to encourage children to get messy, dig in the dirt, and play among the gardens. Our play spaces foster collaboration and teamwork, empowering children to conquer milestones with confidence.

We understand the importance of a smooth school transition, and we work hard to ensure that every child feels safe and secure as they prepare for this new chapter. Our Kindergarten classrooms are intentionally designed by our Teachers to align with the Journey Standards and the Early Years Learning Framework and Curriculum. Our Government Approved Funded 3 and 4-Year-Old Kindergarten Classrooms are led by ACCEQA approved Early Childhood Teachers and Qualified Educators. Children enrolled in our 4-Year-Old Kinder Program receive ongoing support from teachers through our School Readiness Program.

Allow me to introduce myself, I'm Melanie, the Centre Manager at Journey Lara. I have been a part of this wonderful centre for 3 years, initially as an ECT and Educational Leader. With a background in long day child care and sessional kindergarten settings, I am passionate about applying theory to practice and supporting educators in the Early Childhood Care and Education sector. I believe that positive relationships are the foundation of quality education and care, involving children, families, and educators.

Outside of the centre, I enjoy knitting, crocheting, drawing, playing guitar, and practicing Tai Chi.

At Journey Lara, we know that nature is the greatest teacher, which is why nature-based play is a core part of our curriculum. Through outdoor exploration, children learn vital life skills such as confidence, independence, exploration, and cooperation. Playing outside also promotes health and wellbeing while instilling a respect for the environment.
