Illawarra Women's Health Centre 10 Belfast Avenue, Warilla, New South Wales 2528
About the Business
Welcome to Illawarra Women's Health Centre, located at 10 Belfast Avenue in Warilla, Australia. As an establishment dedicated to women's health, we provide free or low-cost medical, allied, and complementary health care services to improve the well-being of women in our community. We also offer a range of health programs, groups, and educational initiatives.
At Illawarra Women's Health Centre, we are proud to be a non-government, not-for-profit organization. Our primary focus is on creating a safe and inclusive space for women, where they can access the care and support they need. We understand that every woman is unique, with different abilities, cultural backgrounds, and linguistic needs, and we strive to provide personalized and culturally sensitive services.
One of our newest outreach services is a one-on-one assistance program for resume and cover letter writing, job searching, and interviewing. Facilitated by Sureway Employment Services, this drop-in service is available on the 2nd Wednesday of every month, and it's completely free of charge.
In addition to our health services, we also host informative events and workshops. For example, we recently had Carolyn Vaughan, an End of Life Doula and Death Cafe facilitator, along with Glenda Stares, Principal Solicitor of Shellharbour Legal Solutions, present a safe and informal space to discuss topics related to death and dying. These events provide a unique opportunity to connect with others, enjoy a cuppa, and expand our knowledge.
We value the feedback and experiences of our clients, as it helps us improve the quality of our services. Currently, we have a survey available where you can share your thoughts and enter for a chance to win $100 cash. It only takes around 5-10 minutes to complete, and your input is greatly appreciated.
Looking ahead, we are excited to announce a seminar by renowned parenting author and educator, Maggie Dent. Titled "Exploring Children's Anxiety," this seminar is not only beneficial for parents and caregivers but also for educators and anyone working with children. Maggie Dent, often referred to as the "queen of common sense," has written several bestselling books and is known for her expertise in early years, adolescence, and resilience. All proceeds from this seminar will go towards supporting women in hardship through the Illawarra Women's Health Centre.
As a not-for-profit, independent, and community-based health centre, we rely on the generosity of donations to continue our vital work. Your end-of-financial-year donation can have a significant positive impact on the lives of women and girls in the Illawarra region. Whether it's supporting mental health, addressing domestic and family violence, or promoting sexual and reproductive health, your contribution helps us improve women's physical, mental, and social well-being. To make a donation, please visit our website or click the link in our bio.
Lastly, we would like to acknowledge that our Centre is situated on the land of the Wodi Wodi people of Warilla, part of the Dharawal Nation. We pay our respects to the traditional custodians of this land, past, present, and future. We recognize the strength and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in their fight against violence, and we are committed to actively supporting and amplifying their voices in our work.
Thank you for visiting Illawarra Women's Health Centre. We are here to support and empower women in their journey towards better health and well-being.
