"We had already eaten so just shared a ‘taco’ and had a drink. An absolute show stopper of a taco, presentation was amazing. Lovely view to sit and have a drink with."
"The weirdest and wackiest experience I’ve ever had dining, and I wish I could do it over and over again. Dining at Faro mightn’t seem like it’s for everyone on the surface, but rest assured it’s theatre dining at its absolute peak. It’s professional, poised and all over the place at the same time. The food is melt in your mouth, you close your eyes as you eat because of the sensory overload of the flavours, textures and ingredients they have used. It’s incredible, definitely something to experience in your lifetime. (Chefs menu recommended always)"
"We arrived early and were seated basically on top of a couple of diners in the corner of the restaurant. Our party of three and the couple were the only five people in the restaurant and we had to basically whisper to avoid talking over each other. Later, once everyone was seated for service, I counted seven empty tables we could have been seated at rather than being jammed together with the percussion equipment. The performance artist with the shakers in our ears was obnoxious. The band was otherwise delightful. The first server discussed my request for a lacrosse-lite meal and then five minutes later another server came and had the same conversation. We were told it was a fine dining experience. In fine dinning, the servers don’t duplicate, they communicate with each other. The server was otherwise good. The food was extraordinarily. Every dish was expertly executed. The eggplant was perfection. The food quality was five stars, the problem with the food was that there wasn’t enough of it. When we got back to our AirBnB we ordered garlic bread — for $175, that should never be the case. I’m glad we paid for the art option but for the price of the tasting, it should have been included in the price, like it previously was. The last time we were at Faro was a few days after it opened. Aside from the gorgeous room, we weren’t given a lot of reasons to return again."
"Incredible. the food was some of the most creative i’ve had in my life and a wonderful example of creative expression in food. Everything was meat-free (fish and shellfish on the last plate) and the meal was 5 course with moorilla wines paired with each dish. our server, Jason, was genuine, thorough, attentive, knowledgeable and funny. we stayed in the pavilions on site and many of the dining guests were folks also staying at the pavilions so by the end of breakfast the next day, you felt as though you knew the people. The dining experience was once in a lifetime, really. I believe we spent about $200/person, but what you’re paying for is the experience as well as the food. I would do it again fwiw, but i don’t know if i’ll be in tasmania again. During dinner there is performance art (music and interpretive dance by a man who resembles andy warhol). the music is lovely and the dancing is memorable. i’ve had several course meals in my life and this one had to be easily the most curated and memorable. if you’re keen on adventurous and beautiful, expressive food — book a reservation at Faro."
"Faro was an amazing and unique experience and I would highly recommend it to those who enjoy artful cuisine in a truly unique and entertaining environment. The performers were brilliant and the cocktails were very well done. The food was super fresh with unique flavours (particularly enjoyed the ants!)."
