George IV Inn 180 Argyle Street, Picton, New South Wales 2571
About the Business
Welcome to the George IV Inn, a historic institution located at 180 Argyle Street in Picton, Australia. Our bar, establishment, food, lodging, and point of interest offer a unique blend of old charm, live music, and great food since 1835.
Under the expert guidance of our Executive Chef, James Metcalfe, the brand new Stonequarry Bar & Grill presents a fresh and quality range of delicious starters, Robata grill skewers, pub classics, and gourmet chef's specials. Please note that our weekly specials are not available on public holidays.
For locals, our historic pub holds a special place in their hearts. Built in 1835, it stands as one of Australia's oldest pubs, hosting family gatherings, lunches, live music, and social drinks for 180 years. Despite being devastated by floods in 2016, we have rebuilt and are now serving drinks, playing music, and providing comfortable pub-style accommodation. Our brand new bistro, Stonequarry Bar and Grill, offers a mouthwatering menu featuring both pub classics and gourmet dishes.
We are committed to continually rebuilding our local landmark. Alongside our new bistro, we will soon introduce a kid's area and fully-restored function area. Keep an eye out for all the exciting developments as we bring back 'Picton's heartbeat' and restore George IV to its former glory and beyond.
In addition to our food and lodging offerings, we also boast over 8 hours of country music featuring talented artists such as the Benn Gunn band, Missy Lancaster, Glen Esmond, the Rams, Kris Petersen, Glenn Bidmead, and Victoria McGee. Join us for a fun-filled day of music you won't want to miss!
Furthermore, the George IV Inn offers a range of entertainment every month. From live music every weekend to themed trivia events, there's always something exciting happening here. Start your weekend off right with drinks and dancing on Friday and Saturday nights, and end your weekend on a high note with our relaxed Sunday afternoon entertainment.
Join us at the George IV Inn for an unforgettable experience of history, music, delicious food, and great company.

Reviews
"We have been to the George many times and not left any review. Celebrating a farewell luncheon we were not disappointed. The food was great especially the Lamb pie which gives another venues 'Guinness pie' a run for its money. The staff were friendly and even brought our drinks to the table when tapping a new keg was required. Never had a dud experience and will continue to frequent this establishment."
"Very nice pub. Plenty of area's to socialise in. My wife and I had a very nice Sunday lunch out on the deck. The weather was cool, but plenty of outdoor heating was provided. We had the chicken skewers and chef's special chicken breast which were both delicious. Plenty of beers to choose from also. Highly recommend and we'll definitely make a return visit."
"Yummy bar/pub-style food.. tasty and good portion size. Lovely old-fashioned pub with a mixture of patrons.. bikies, families.. just a nice atmosphere & place. Perfect location central to Picton.."
"Stopped for dinner with my wife. Food was good quality but got side order wrong. They did offer to remake it but we didn't want to wait as mains had come out. The lady that took our order was very pushy, asking multiple times if we were ready to order even when no other customers were waiting."
"I enjoyed the fish tacos and the rest of our group enjoyed the pizza. Love the outdoor deck, especially the timber framing around the bar. Great place to meet, however the parking at the rear is a problem. Other than that really great place to meet"
