"A hidden gem of Newcastle. I have been eating here for over 12 months and it never disappoints. Service is now first class as is the food. And what a setting. Superb"
"Very disappointed! We booked in for the Mother’s Day luncheon and there was not one acknowledgment of Mother’s Day. We weren’t greeted with a ‘happy Mother’s day’ from staff, no flowers on tables, no balloons, no complimentary champagne for Mums - nothing! We asked for the high tea and we were told these were to be pre-ordered, this was not advised when we booked over the phone. The service was poor at best. We won’t be going back!"
"Staff need training. They don't care about their job. They were too involved with flirting with each other to pay attention to anyone else. Food terrible. Linguine dish could serve 5 people and was way too much in the bowl. Gnocchi was drowned in tin sauce and soaked in oil. It was almost mash potato. Another couple came in the restaurant. They had a booking for 2. They were taken and sat at a table of 5.. The staff should have noticed a take was booked for 2, moved the table out and make it actually suit two people. Menu needs a revamp and the staff need training. Regret booking."
"We chose Wharf 350 for a family birthday as we had eaten many lovely meals at Seasalt over the past 10-15 years. Sadly, Wharf 350 is not a patch on its predecessor. The meals were okay but the service was below par. The restaurant lacks ambience but is relatively quiet. We won’t be returning."
"We visited Wharf St with my family for dinner. My mother is coeliac and is always very careful everywhere we dine with her allergy. The main she ordered and a side of chips were both marked as gluten free on the menu. The young waiter come out and told her the main was not gluten free dispite marked on the menu and she changed her main meal. When the side of chips came out with the older waiter she rudely said they were not gluten free and we said we ordered gluten free and she just took them back away with no apolgy or offer of subsitution. When we were leaving we mentioned both of these issues with the misleading menu to the older waiter who was rude and unapolgetic about the issue, which could severely affect someone with allergies health. It is so disappointing as we went with high expectations from other patrons who have been but we left with a poor experience and will not be going back. Terrible customer service and lack of care for people with allergies."
