"Having a child in year 7 has been tumultuous time so far, but the school has gone above and beyond with their support. Any issues we have had have been dealt with promptly. The teachers and staff are wonderful, so kind, caring and genuine. I highly recommend considering St. Peter’s."
"I am not a student from the school I can say one thing I was on the bus today and I heard the students were making fun of school shootings in America and I heard all the reviews to and it's pretty disgusting and someone needs Expose This school for being disgusting."
"I simply can't thank the school enough. My son started at St Peters this year. This is my son's fourth school and although he is quite academic and loves to learn has spent his school days trying survive with little support. First day at this school and he came home stating he loved the school. I asked why and my son said : " they hear me here they don't dismiss me". A term in and my son is thriving, no more school refusal, has returned to social activites outside of school. (For 2 years my son had become withdrawn and disengaged). My son is back to his happy, bubbly engaging self. Communication at St Peters is EXCELLENT. The level of supoort and care by ALL staff is amazing. A special thanks to Karen Peters ( Business Manager) my first contact with the school. By the time I arrived at the office I was broken and an emotional mess as last year was the most horrifying year my son has ever encountered. Karen Peters was extremely welcoming, kind and understanding and went out of her way to help. Our enrolement was right at the end of term 4 . Despite the late enrolement the school was well prepared first day of first term to give my son the care and support he so desperately needed. A few weeks after my son starting at this school Karen Peters checked in with me to not only see how my son was adjusting but to see how I was. I have never encountered a school that listens, and communicates so effectively and also demonstrates such a high level of geniune care for personal welfare of students and there families. I would also like to make special mention of Rebecca Collins. Rebecca Collins has provided truelly amazing support to my son making his transition into a new school an extremely easy transition. The level of support provided to my son by Rebecca Collins has been more than I could ever have hoped for. To all of my son's teachers: thank you. My son comes home every day sharing positive experiences in the classroom day after day after day. The level of geniune care and support recieved from St Peters towards my son is more than I could ever have hoped for or expected. This school goes above and beyond. I would go as far as saying St Peters is like a home away from home."
"Hi, my name is Kathleen Williams, however I was enrolled as Kathleen Williams-Roberts. This place was indeed hell. The teachers were bullies, there was lack of support from teachers, they turned blind eyes to children being bullied, they did their best to hide all issues. On numerous occasions I had to take matters into my own hands to help children (who I didn't even know) fight off the bullies. I know from my own experiences how the school sweeps things under the carpet, repeatedly being told to shake hands and get over it. I have had teachers walk past me as I have a panic attack after being harassed. I have had teachers discriminate and bully me because of who I was related to. I have had teachers lecture the students about courtesy and respect but they don't seem to give the students any respect at all nor practice what they preach. It's like the rules don't apply to them, if you want your students to respect you, they expect the same treatment from you. To them it's always the students who are wrong."
"Not to be one of those kids that complains about the school regardless simply because they'd rather be at home, but: I attended St Peter's for a few years and just recently moved schools, and I'd be lying if I said that wasn't probably the biggest and best decision I've ever made for myself, especially since I'm still a "kid". The reason being is that I just never felt the "community" that the school preached about; the education at the school was... fine? Nothing special, but the atmosphere is where it suffers. First of all, I think there are some serious behavioural problems and the teachers neglect to do anything about it. There were kids in my grade that had been getting bullied since year 7 and I'm sure STILL face it now. Rather than solving problems or taking proper action in terms of consequences for students, it seems to be St Peter's priority to hush things up and beat around in the bush so that the school's ✧・゚:* reputation *:・゚✧ doesn't suffer. This coincides with the place's rules about uniform. Is it wrong for a school to have a uniform? Of course not, but St Peter's didn't do a good job at making us 'proud to represent our school' - it got to the point where it seemed like uniform and reputation of the school was more important than education, with kids getting in trouble, not allowed to go to sport or even sent home just because they had the wrong socks on and didn't have a note. This is aside the fact that, specifically from what I hear the girls complain about all the time, the uniforms are just not suited for students as clothes. Girls constantly mention in summer how hot and stuffy the dresses are, and how thick the material is. Then, in winter, that the blouses are extremely thin and the v-neck leaves the chest exposed to the cold. Even an observer can see how thin the blouses are - if a girl isn't wearing her blazer, you can often see her bra through the back fabric of the shirt, and that isn't anything that they should have to worry about. Enough about uniform, back to community: I know I said that kids getting targeted doesn't seem to be a problem for the school to deal with, but it's even worse for the teachers. And I'm not talking teachers who bully the kids (though that is another problem in itself), I mean teachers that are relentlessly mistreated by students every day. It's always the same students that disrupt class, swear at the teachers, call them names, etc, yet why is it that I still have to dread going to certain classes because I KNOW it will be a nightmare? I don't even want to think about how the teachers feel. Finally, a smaller issue I had was on how hard the teachers pushed TAFE courses. I think we all know that the Central Coast doesn't have the highest ATARs, but St Peter's seemed really strong on the whole "if you do these subjects you don't have to sit the HSC!!!" thing. The entire premise seemed so disingenuous and obviously transparent that rather than students really giving the subjects they love a go regardless of their end ATAR, the teachers only wanted students like the high achievers that felt confident in their subject to continue through to the HSC. Maybe I've rambled on too much; I know there's more, but it's more personal details that I'm not entirely sure could reflect the whole school. And before the DBB Hackerman invalidates my review because the name "Amanda Jeff" isn't on any school records, I know, its an alternate account. Basically, if you're thinking of sending your kid here, just make sure there isn't anywhere else you'd like them to go? I know that, considering the area, there isn't really much choice, everywhere has a "bad reputation". But, I don't know. I just wanted to put my opinion out there, and yours are up to you."
