"Worst customer service I have ever seen in any retail setting. Terrible store and some of the staff needs a lot more training and a course in customer service. Cashier behind the customer s3rvice desk didn't want to ring through the gift cards I was purchasing while a deal was on and made me go through self-serve. She then proceeded to come from behind the counter stand right next to me while I was ringing them through and make me feel uncomfortable and question why I was buying them. She was not asking if I had been asked to buy them as payment for anything (as I know that is a scam they will ask about). It was like she was mad I was buying them to get the 10% savings. Watched me ring in every card and validated them, and watched me pay for them. Not once did she say scan your flybuys card to get the discount. Waits until I paid and as I was walking to my car I realized I didn't receive the discount. As soon as I went back in, she said, "Oh well, you didn't scan your flybuys card." When I asked to speak to a manager, she refused at first, but when I insisted, she grabbed the gift cards I had bought worth $1250 and tried to walk out back with them. I told her she wasn't walking away with my gift cards as that is the same as cash and she argued with me and when I reached for them she pulled her hand back so I couldn't take them back. She stood there arguing with me and refusing to hand me back my gift cards until I raised my voice and another customer looked over. She finally handed them back and walked off in a huff. I have called coles customer care, and they have been absolutely useless, giving me the run around for the last 5 or 6 weeks. They refuse to do anything about it and half the correspondence I have received back from them, you can tell they haven't even bothered to read what all transpired. Clearly, it's a lack of training or care from the staff not only at the store level but in their customer care department and all the way up the line. No one I coles can be bothered to rectify the situation. Beware of any special they have as they won't honour it, and they allowed their staff to treat their customers with disrespect. On another note, don't buy flowers from them either. I have gone several times to grab flowers, and when you check the dates, there are always flowers at this location that are past the sell by date. From my knowledge, any flowers past the sell by date are to be taken off the shelf and destroyed or donated. I have seen flowers over a week past the sell by date, and they are still trying to sell them and at full price, not even discounted. Seen bouquets at this location today that were past their sell by date and some visibly starting to wilt. This store needs to retrain some of their staff and take some pride in their store."
