Born and raised in Newcastle, Dr Martin began her medical journey as a radiation therapist, obtaining her Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science (RT) from the University of Newcastle in 2003. Her dedication and passion for oncology led her to pursue a career in radiation oncology, earning her Bachelor of Medicine (BMed) from the University of Newcastle in 2009.

Dr Martin further honed her skills and knowledge through specialist radiation oncology training at the Hunter New England Health Service. In 2013, she returned to Calvary Mater Newcastle, where she completed her advanced training in radiation oncology. During this time, she gained extensive experience in managing a wide range of cancers, solid tumour malignancies, and specialized in breast cancer, genitourinary cancer, gynaecological cancers, lung cancer, and skin cancers. She is also well-versed in stereotactic ablative radiation therapy (SABR) and palliative radiation therapy.
