About the Business
Welcome to A.J. Watch Repairs, the premier authorized service centre for various watch brands in Canberra, Australia. Located at 143 London Circuit, our establishment is a must-visit point of interest for watch enthusiasts and collectors alike.
At A.J. Watch Repairs, we pride ourselves on providing top-notch service to ensure that every timepiece leaving our workshop meets its original functional and aesthetic specifications. Our dedicated team of qualified watchmakers meticulously clean and restore each case and bracelet, while completely overhauling the movement. We rigorously test the timekeeping accuracy and water-resistance of every watch to guarantee the level of quality and reliability you naturally expect from a horologist.
We offer services for all styles of mechanical wind-up/automatic watches, as well as quartz timepieces. However, at this stage, we are only accepting Quartz clocks, not mechanicals, due to our current workload. Rest assured, all repairs are carried out onsite by our skilled watchmakers and come with a 12 or 24-month guarantee on all major repairs.
Being an authorized service centre for various brands means that the job is done by us in our purpose-built workshop, conveniently located just upstairs from our retail store. We utilize factory-grade pressure test equipment to ensure water-resistance and test for any leaks, ensuring your watch is ready for any aquatic adventures.
In our store, you will find renowned brands like Witschi, Sigma, Horotec, Bergeon, and Litlitz. These brands provide the highest quality tools and equipment for watch testing and maintenance. We are equipped with the Witschi Watch Expert IV, specially designed for testing and checking co-axial and other special calibers. Additionally, the Analyzer Q1 is the ideal instrument for efficient and fast testing of LCD and Quartz timepieces.
Mechanical movements, whether automatic or manual wind, are intricate works of art. Made up of small gears, miniature screws, and hair-thin springs, combining all these minuscule pieces to create a working, accurate timepiece is truly an amazing feat. With the right care, mechanical timepieces, especially modern ones with jeweled movements, can last forever. In fact, we specialize in bringing them back to life if they are in reasonable condition.
If your timepiece suddenly starts running extremely fast, it could be an indication that the hairspring coils are magnetized, causing them to stick together. Our watchmakers are trained to easily correct this issue using only approved machines for service centre use. These machines not only detect magnetism but also demagnetize both mechanical and quartz timepieces.
Another common issue we encounter is tangled coils, usually caused by a shock to the movement. This can significantly increase the beat rate and cause the watch to run extremely fast. Fortunately, our qualified watchmakers can quickly fix this problem in less than 2 minutes.
At A.J. Watch Repairs, we understand the value and sentiment attached to your timepieces. Rest assured, your watches are in safe hands with our expert team. Visit us today and experience the highest level of watch repair and maintenance services in Canberra.

Reviews
"A and J are very skilled horologists. Not for nothing they are Canberra's only licenced Omega watch surgeons. This I discovered recently taking in, an old chronometer recently inherited for their attention. Respectful, hugely knowledgeable and precise, they provide new life to watches with care and devotion. Considering their skillset their remuneration is very reasonable. A 5 star experience"
"The customer service here is excellent, I had a lot of uncertainties and questions trying to grasp the meaning behind how repairs were made and how prices were reached and everything was explained to me fairly and with great detail. Highly recommend"

"If you care about your precious watch bring it HERE. I had a minor adjustment done to my Omega watch today and it was done with great service and care!!!"
"Had a disappointing customer service experience here yesterday. Work done on my watch for $480 without confirmation of the quote. I could have taken it to the manufacturer interstate for less, but wanted to use a local family business (watch not in warranty). Was told two messages and a call had been made to me.. but this simply wasn't the case. I have not at any point received a call or message from the shop. In fact, the only reason I knew it was done was because I called to see where things were up to! I still don't even know what the diagnosis was! Was told yesterday it was fee for a service and reseal ($480!!) - but the watch went in not working at all... Watch was at the shop for close to six months (yes, I should have called sooner). Here's the kicker.. No apology was offered, however they did offer to knock $100 from the bill and I gratefully accepted - when he ran it up only knocked off $80!! Haha! I only said it was disappointing and copped it but felt like I had been taken for a ride over the whole encounter. Not often I leave a review, but it's left a bad taste in my mouth. They do get two stars as the watch was repaired and appears to be working, and a recalibration was previously done on another auto for free."
