"We had High Tea and it was great. A lovely selection of sweet and savoury, there was even pumpkin soup in a shot- glass! There were a huge number of teas to choose from, you can even buy loose leaf tea to take home."
"What a cute little tea room. Best of all great home-made soup and freshly baked bread to accompany. Excellent service and definately enough to satisfy my hunger, Nestled amongst the antique shops in High Street,Strathalbyn."
"Heading to the hills and beyond for a day trip , we looked to the internet for a cafe suggestion. I took a leap of faith as Ada was my grandmother’s name , and it stood up to the reviews . What a charming little cafe this is , it’s almost like traveling back in time . The interior is beautifully done , with an eye for detail, and the staff are warm and cordial , it’s like visiting a friend’s house . The owner explained that Flo and Ada was named after her two grandmother’s and the recipes were handed down from them as well , which is a lovely way of remembering a loved one . The cafe does offer coffee , but I would recommend the tea , as there is such a wide variety on offer . My friend and I ordered a pot to share , of Lemon Myrtle and Davidson Plum , which was refreshing with a slight sweetness. Even my non tea drinking child enjoyed a sip . You can order doorstops , which are sandwiches with thick slices of bread , with various fillings . But I found gluten free scones , so had to order some as it’s very rare . They were delightfully delicious and were accompanied by some clotted cream , which I’d actually never had before ( apparently the cream is baked and then cooled and refrigerated). My friend had blueberry scones , which she raved about, with caramelised fig jam , and my youngest enjoyed their plain ones with strawberry jam . Seriously good scones . They also offer high tea if you book in advance. We had to rush off for an appointment, but now we’ve found this gem of a cafe , my friend and I want to return to enjoy the cosy atmosphere, with its friendly staff ."
