In 2022, we are excited to celebrate the establishment of our onsite preschool, ensuring a seamless continuum of learning experiences from playgroup to preschool and primary school. This continuity promotes a strong foundation for our students' educational journey.

As we strive to provide the highest standards of education, our dedicated staff and students work together to build our community profile. From gardening to cooking, building to restoring, we engage in various activities that enhance our school treasures. We are fortunate to have a strong volunteer base supporting these endeavors.

Our preschool and Mini Explorers nature playgroup focus on providing enriching experiences in our local natural environment. We encourage children's interests, guide their successes and discoveries, and help shape their sense of identity. Currently located approximately 5km away in Houghton, we are excited to announce that a brand new preschool facility is being built at the Paracombe site.

At Paracombe Primary School, we acknowledge the importance of playful learning in the Early Years. Through play, students explore themselves, their environment, and the world around them. They develop problem-solving skills, social skills, and motor skills necessary for growth and learning. Our literacy and numeracy lessons are enriched with real-life tasks, and our buddy programs with older students create a sense of community throughout the school.

In years 2 to 3, our students become more independent and develop effective communication skills. We encourage their participation, intrinsic interest, and positive actions for their well-being. By fostering engagement in schoolwork and cultivating positive attitudes, we lay the foundation for their future success.

In upper primary, our students are challenged to take further responsibility for their learning and explore their leadership skills. They collaborate with and assist younger children in group tasks, fostering a sense of responsibility and community. Our safe and secure learning environment has high expectations, incorporating cross-curricular and inquiry-based learning approaches to deepen their understanding of the world. We also recognize and support individual interests through our Now, New, Next framework.
