Welcome to the Sandy Creek Primary School website. Located in Cockatoo Valley, South Australia, our school creates a learning environment that caters to the needs of every student. We value each individual in our community and strive for excellence in both learning and wellbeing. Our calm and positive culture throughout the school ensures that children feel comfortable and safe.

At Sandy Creek Primary School, we have approximately 90 students, accommodated in four classrooms. Our specialized subjects include Japanese and Digital Technology. We have a strong cultural and language exchange program, where our students regularly interact with students in Japan at our sister school in Minami Aiki Village, Nagano. Since 1996, we have been organizing regular exchange visits and trips with Japan, and we are planning another trip in 2023.

We work diligently to provide all students with the best possible support, regardless of their academic ability. Our teachers and students receive many hours of SSO support in the classrooms. Additionally, we offer specialized support programs such as MiniLit, TooSmart, and What's the Buzz, to further enhance their learning and wellbeing.

Digital Technologies play a significant role in our school. Students have access to iPads, laptops, and a dedicated computer area. They learn the basics of computer science and programming, with the aim of adding value to their learning experience.

Our school boasts picturesque and spacious grounds, providing a lovely environment for students to learn, play, and grow. We have beautiful nature play areas and the recently created 'Friendship Walk.' Sandy Creek and Cockatoo Valley are part of a tranquil and relaxing area of the state. We would like to respectfully acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land on which our school stands, the Kaurna, Peramangk, and Ngadjuri peoples. Our school is located on the border where three Aboriginal nations meet, and we pay our respects to all their Elders, both past and present.

Aboriginal people have had a deep connection to this land for thousands of years, and that connection remains strong today. We believe in the importance of Aboriginal and Non-Aboriginal people working together to educate, unite, and live in peace on this land we call home, Australia.
