We understand that the recent Medicare bulk billing freeze has had a significant impact on healthcare costs. Unfortunately, due to these circumstances, we have been forced to increase our fees. Most patients will now incur an out-of-pocket cost of $40, while concession card holders will have an out-of-pocket cost of $20.

However, we want to assure you that certain groups, including DVA card holders, children under 16 years of age, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients, will continue to be bulk billed. Additionally, some consultations, such as chronic care items and mental health care items, will also be bulk billed. We encourage you to speak with your doctor for more information regarding these services.

At North Eastern Health Centre, our primary focus is delivering high-quality healthcare to all our patients. To schedule an appointment, you can call our practice at 8264 2300 during office hours, Monday to Saturday. Alternatively, you can conveniently book your appointment online using our Hot Doc booking service.

We kindly request that you understand our practice does not offer walk-in appointments. However, we do maintain a daily cancellation list, and appointments are available on the day for urgent matters. If you require an urgent appointment or have a sick child, please inform our reception team so that appropriate arrangements can be made. We ask that you provide a clear and concise explanation of the matter.

As a mixed billing practice, there will be a small out-of-pocket cost for private patients and concession card holders. Detailed information regarding our billing policies can be found in the Practice Billing Policies section below. Please note that DVA card holders, First Nation patients, and children under 16 years of age will be bulk billed. Additionally, certain consultations, such as chronic care items and mental health care items, will also be bulk billed. We encourage you to consult with your doctor for further clarification.

If you have multiple issues to discuss with your doctor or need to complete forms, a longer appointment may be necessary. Please inform our reception team, and they will arrange a longer consultation for you.

For your convenience, we also offer telehealth appointments for shorter consultations. However, please be aware that there are Medicare rules governing the types of consultations that can be conducted over the phone. These telehealth consultations may also incur an out-of-pocket cost.

Please remember to bring your Medicare card and any concession card to all your appointments to ensure smooth processing.

Our operating hours are as follows: Monday to Friday - 7:30am to 6:30pm, and Saturday – 8:00am to 1:00pm. Please note that appointments are required for all visits.
