"Gerald Slaven may be able to service a Holden reliably. I don't know because I have been trying for 3 days to book a service without success. Day 1 went to their web site. Met their chat bot. Filled in the questions to request a booking. Was told someone would be in touch. Crickets. Phoned them. Waited 10 minutes to get "I'll just pop you through to service" Call answered "hello" I asked "Is this service" Answer "yes" then they hung up. Comedy of Errors. Day 2 filled out the book a service form on their web site. Got an email saying someone would be in touch. 24 hours later. Still nothing. I resort to a competitor. Fill in their 'book a service' form and 10 minutes later I get an SMS confirmation of a booking for the day I proposed. Like I say, they may be able to provide reliable service but we'll never know. Thanks for your reply. I did hear from you eventually. Apparently I left a voice mail message on Day 2 and was called 3 days later. Glad to hear to are looking at addressing this. Maybe next time."
"Very impressed with the service team at Gerald Slaven. I had to get my car in for a service at really short notice and they were really accommodating. Check in was quick and easy and they called me to let me know what they needed to do to get my car sorted within an hour of dropping the car off. Had it back quicker than I was expecting as well. Thanks guys, I’ll be back for my next service!"
"My car went in for a regular service and came out with more problems than it went in with (the car is less than 5yo and still under warranty). They said it was an oil sensor which needed replacing, and I was left without a car for 2 weeks. After taking the car back 3 times in less than a month(and costing over $1200 for a quoted $400 service), what actually happened was that they did not install an oil filter properly which set off a number of alarms in my car. I will be seeking a refund for their absolute incompetence. Not only that, they didn't put the wheel studs back in properly either when I got my car back - which has now costed me more money and could have endangered my safety. I shouldn't have to check that a service is done properly after getting my car back."
"The following is a complaint about Holden Australia and not Gerald Slaven service department!!! Thanks to Nathan and Stefan for helping us as much as they could.. much appreciated.... stars for their service not Holden or their customer loyalty!! Very disappointed in lack of loyalty from Holden Australia. I have had four commodores, this is my first SS that I have been working towards for years. I am a nurse and have been working through the lockdowns... Found this wonderful piece of history from a elderly gentleman in Perth and had her transported across the country. 2016 Black edition SS VF version 2 with 54,000kms on the clock. Kept garaged and covered, washed weekly and only ever given 98 fuel. All service history is pristine....like the car. Took her to Gerald Slaven as starting to run a little rough so they did scheduled service, but on pickup said it was still running rough and needed eight new spark plugs (quote for just over $400). ..... I understand how it could have looked like the plugs... but this unfortunately did not stop the issue. The engine light then came on stating injector number 6 needs replaced. It is recommended to change all eight. This is when I told my issue to mates on the VF SS Facebook page and learnt that my model car is well known for having faulty injectors and needing them all replaced. Spoke directly to four others who have had the same issue and their Holden service centre had changed them all even when car was no longer in warranty and they were not first owners. They were provided by Holden under "good will". See articles on Carsguide.com.au "3027 Holden Commodore: Fuel Injector Failure" article stating that Holden dealers have been changing injectors free of charge when car presented at dealership with symptoms/evidence. AND Drive.com.au "Holden Commodore LS3 V8 Injector dramas" This article states that "Holden dealers have told drive the fuel injectors are replaced free of charge even if the vehicle is out of warranty" So we approached Gerald Slaven service manager who stated it was the first he had ever heard of this issue (the issue well known by other Holden Service Centres) and we put in all paperwork to get our injectors changed under Good will (the cost would be $2000+ and believe me nurses don't get paid enough to have that spare cash ready).....however we were rejected. Holden stating that as we purchased the car from a private buyer and not a car yard we did not qualify (despite others in the facebook group that have done exactly the same thing and WERE NOT REJECTED...same amount of kms and both out of warranty) So why not me? Why was I singled out? I now have a beautiful car that is useless sitting in the garage and unable to enjoy. I am a hardworking Aussie, onto my 6th Holden...I used to proudly were Holden merchandise (shirts, jacket, cups, hat) and am heart broken that my dream car has become my nightmare. This car is pristine - even the serviceman commented on the car's condition. So disappointed in the lack of support and inconsistency with these repairs being offered from Holden themselves. Post reply from dealer... I would like to thank Gerald Slaven for trying hard on my behalf and putting my good will case forward to Holden. I believe you are not to blame for their bias and rejection. Regards Tanya"
"Booked my car in for a service and the wife dropped it off due to me being interstate for work. Customer service was great with providing a loan car and they helped my wife put the baby seat back in our car on return. Upon picking the car up, they informed my wife that the battery needed replacing but hadn't replaced it. My wife assumed this meant replacing next service and did not question why they didn't replace it. Next day car wouldn't start she called them and their excuse for not replacing the battery was because they had none in stock. This is unacceptable and makes me question if the service was done properly. Will not be getting my car serviced there again."
