"Only ate here due to our accomodation being at the Weintal. Sad part is we won’t be returning to the awesome accomodation again in the fear of seeing this establishment again. Online booking was made 4 hours before we arrived, just to find out they didn’t have our booking. Short wait at the bar, no drinks menu available though. After being seated, no table service for food or drinks at all. Menu was different to the online menu that got us excited, was smaller, more expensive and you’ll find more options at a pub. The drinks menu didn’t even align to their tap selection either. Starter was prompt but may be the worst garlic bread/pizza we’ve ever had, somehow burnt and no taste. Took 45 minutes for this dish to be taken after we finished it also. Mains took 90 minutes to arrive, “lamb shanks” was a single shank with minimum meat. Think they must have missed the fact the menu states it was “shanks” and that one shank couldn’t fill a toddler up (more meat on a McDonald’s quarter ponder). My partners steak was good (you’d hope so for the steak house price) however we were convinced the gravy was just brown water, horrible and not used (was extra $ also). By far the worst dining experience I’ve ever had and for the price range that’s extremely frustrating. Made two complaints to the lovely staff, management did not come and see us however. No explanations, no care and no compensation. Wouldn’t recommend my worst enemy to dine here, do yourself a favour and visit the servo across the road. Happy anniversary to us!"
"Ate here last weekend. Nice atmosphere, one friendly, helpful waitress, and an older waiter who was not very friendly nor helpful. The online menu was completely different to the menu in the restaurant. The food was generally disappointing - substandard in comparison to the other pub food in the region - and at a steeper price. My mum ordered the market fish - which was listed as a whole snapper fillet ($38). We were all shocked when a small tommy ruff fillet struggled to fill half the plate. Embarrassing. Go somewhere else for food."
"I'm sorry but the service was terrible, not only did we have to wait for just over 50mins for two meals to come out and then ask twice for a child's ice-cream to be delivered 30 mins after asking the first time. The meals themselves were actually filling and tasteful."
"A pretty decent experience in a stunning atmosphere. Myself and a group of 6 attended on a Saturday night for dinner. The service was pretty good and drinks came out promptly. However, there was significant waiting time for food to be served at our table. Kitchen looked rather understaffed and the venue was only 30% full. The chicken parmigiana looked a little sad, but good portion sizing. The steak sandwich was quite good, great flavour on the steak, however the chips were cold. Overall the venue is very visually appealing, however the wait times and food could be improved. I would probably return if in the area."
"I expected and wanted more out of this place - large venue with booths, generous seating and a central fireplace Yet was very empty during a weekend visit, food was good but menu was limited. Not as many pub classics as expected. Considering the percentage of tables that were booked (read:quiet), we waited an enormous amount of time to get served - well over an hour for table of 4 with just one meal each, no frills and ordered drinks at the bar. Maybe this is why they're not popular? On paper they should be!"
