At Open Studio Art School, we believe that anyone can draw, but improving skills requires commitment and practice. Our classes are designed to help students observe more closely, enabling them to translate three-dimensional subjects onto a two-dimensional format, such as paper or canvas. We strive to move students beyond symbolic drawing, encouraging them to embrace more realistic representation.

We offer instruction in a variety of mediums, including pencil, charcoal, watercolor, pastels, oils, acrylic, pen, and gouache. Our experienced instructors are passionate about nurturing creativity and ensuring that each student finds their inspiration in a broad range of subjects and materials.

Classes at Open Studio Art School are kept small to provide more one-on-one tuition in a group setting. We believe that students learn best when engaged in projects that interest them. Therefore, our classes are open for students to explore the areas of learning that intrigue them. Students are introduced to new techniques and mediums, allowing them to expand their artistic horizons.

Our weekly and term classes are held in a private studio in Rostrevor, while short courses and social nights take place in various locations around Adelaide. Our classes are suitable for children aged 9 and above, and we welcome students of all skill levels, from beginners to advanced artists.

Please note that classes must be used within the same term they are purchased for, and missed classes do not carry over to the next term unless a class is canceled by the school. We kindly ask that you read our terms and conditions before enrolling your child, as they contain important information regarding refunds and make-up lessons.

If a student is unable to attend their regular class, they can arrange a make-up lesson in another class by simply emailing us with their preferred alternative. Refunds will not be given for classes that are not attended by students. We kindly request that you inform us if you are unable to attend a class due to illness or any other reason.
