Welcome to Australia Pacific Security College, located at Acton, Lennox Crossing, 1. As an establishment and point of interest, we are dedicated to strengthening the security and resilience of the Blue Pacific Continent through learning, policy engagement, and regional collaboration.
At Australia Pacific Security College, we are proud to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Regional Assistance Mission to Solomon Islands (RAMSI) with our biggest vodcast series yet. This series highlights the achievements and lessons learned from RAMSI's successful intervention in the Solomon Islands.
We are also committed to supporting the development and launch of the Cook Islands National Security Policy for the years 2023-2026. Through our expertise and resources, we aim to assist the Cook Islands in enhancing their national security capabilities and strategies.
One of our notable events includes a discussion with former Kiribati President Anote Tong on the Pacific Wayfinder. President Tong shares his insights on the challenges and opportunities faced by Pacific Island nations in navigating the complex geopolitical landscape.
Our institution recently concluded the Solomon Islands National Security Reporting Course, equipping participants with essential skills to effectively report on national security issues. Additionally, we held a course on Transnational and Organised Crime in the Pacific in Suva, addressing the growing concern of criminal activities in the region.
We are honored to have had the opportunity to meet with Palau President Surangel S. Whipps Jr, discussing the importance of regional security cooperation. Furthermore, our esteemed Professor Dave Peebles engaged in fruitful discussions with Secretary-General Henry Puna and other regional partners, aiming to foster stronger collaboration in addressing security challenges.
As part of our commitment to knowledge sharing, we organized a webinar on the Health and Security Nexus, exploring the intersection between health and security and the importance of a multi-agency approach in addressing related challenges.
We also welcomed a delegation from Papua New Guinea for briefings on regional and economic security. This visit allowed us to exchange insights and knowledge, further strengthening the bonds between our institutions.
Australia Pacific Security College is proud to acknowledge, celebrate, and pay respects to the Ngunnawal and Ngambri people of the Canberra region, as well as all First Nations Australians. We recognize the importance of their traditional lands and the rich cultural heritage they represent, which are among the oldest continuing cultures in human history.
Join us at Australia Pacific Security College as we strive to enhance security and resilience in the Pacific region through education, collaboration, and policy engagement. Together, we can create a safer and more prosperous future for the Blue Pacific Continent.
