About the Business
Welcome to Canberra Museum & Gallery, located at 176 London Circuit in Canberra, Australia. As an art gallery, establishment, museum, point of interest, and tourist attraction, CMAG offers a diverse and enriching experience for visitors of all ages.
One of our exciting exhibitions is "How Cities Work," an interactive family exhibition that guarantees something exciting on every corner. Explore and discover the inner workings of cities through hands-on activities and engaging displays.
Another highlight of our collection is The Nolan Collection, a remarkable series of paintings gifted to the nation by Sidney Nolan in 1974. This iconic group of artworks, created between 1945 and 1953, showcases Nolan's exceptional talent and provides a unique insight into Australian art history.

In addition to our exhibitions, we host a range of events and programs that cater to all interests. Recently, we organized the Youth Climate Forum, a thought-provoking event in association with our exhibition, High-Vis. We also feature the exhibition Activism: Forces for Change in Canberra, curated by Rowan Henderson, which includes insightful talks by Gail Radford.

Reviews
"Walking distance from Canberra centre, easy stroll from civic centre. 4 small exhibitions about the history of the establishment of Canberra. My favorite? Platypus exhibition, small not very informative but, learnt about platypus preservation at Coombs Peninsula. Worth a visit. Coffee shop & free Wi-Fi available."
"Worth a visit and good for something free. It will take about 30minutes to see and read everything if it’s 5 galleries"
"Had a lovely experience. The staff were friendly and it was small so made it quicker to get around as opposed to the national galleries. Enjoyed the diverse range of art. From the Nolan collection (more of this at the National Gallery if you like it), to jewelry, and unique glass sculptures and modern works from Lindy Lee."
"I loved the diversity of the exhibitions and the welcoming staff. This is a lovely venue with comfortable spaces that give you the space to take in the exhibits. A weekday visit is a good way to avoid crowds so you can take the time to appreciate everything that's on offer."
