"This hotel is only just located in Canberra, on the northern outskirts. It is a former Formule 1 hotel which has an architectural design more like a hospital, hotel, nursing home or prison. My check in experience wasn't great - we were not even greeted by the attendant for several minutes while waiting. A cleaner greeted us better in the morning with a smile that I could not even see under her face mask. There is an unpleasant odour throughout which fortunately was not evident in the room. The door to the room has a threshold that you must step over and which your roller bags will get caught on. The room was very small with a pod toilet and shower, which is not really a problem in itself. However, there is no wash basin in the bathroom - you must use one that is near the kitchenette - not exactly hygienic! The air conditioner and separate heater are quite dirty. The heater is in need of replacement. The square "port hole" window had a dirty fly screen and a security screen (ie prison feel). The top bunk bed had a plastic style mattress which was quite uncomfortable. The breakfast, while only $10, was very basic, although the ham was really nice. The automatic pancake machine which was potentiality a delight was faulty. The floor at the reception door is broken and a trip hazard which needs fixing urgently. The only positives were the main Queen bed which was comfortable and the linen was very clean and fresh. Despite this I would not stay again and DO NOT recommend it to others. Budget is an over statement."

"Booked here for a recent expo at exhibition park. Great location right near it and also near a servo and fast food outlets, and only a short drive into the city too. Fairly priced, rooms were clean and bed was very comfortable however the showerhead only had turbo mode and no shower curtain so the whole small bathroom got soaked whenever we used the shower. If you're looking for a cheap place to stay for 1 or 2 nights, I recommend this."

"This is not where I normally stay, and to say I was reticent would be an understatement, but they deliver way above the price bracket. From reception, which was welcoming and happy (sorry I missed your name) with my lovely welcome gift (scoffed rockey road), this has been a very pleasant experience. No, it's not the Hyatt but frankly the rooms are obviously cleaned within an inch of their life, which means a lot. Can not fault house keeping. Gold Star. Whiff of ammonia and lavender. It is quiet here. Not enough power points near the bed, stops night time views, and wall heater is fine for Canberra cold. You deliver very well Ibis for the budget and with cheer. Thank you."

"Probably the worst “budget” hotel i’ve been to. I paid $200 for 3 adults and its not worth it, room is not suitable or even spacious for 3 adults. Although the beds were comfortable, there is no enough gap between 2 beds. The TV was the size of a computer."

"AVOID! There is budget, then there is just a ripoff. There are cheaper and much MUCH better motels, hotels and campgrounds nearby. The toilets in our... "Room" didn't work and the the person at the counter wanted us to prove it by looking in the toilet... He said he didn't know how to refund customers and we had to sit around and wait an indefinite time until a manager arrived, who he couldn't contact whatsoever apparently. They efused to refund for 2 hours. The staff were useless and rude, the rooms are terrible, you are better off committing a petty crime and staying in jail for the night you'll get a better experience, and it's cheaper too."
