We are thrilled to extend an invitation to our Back-to-Burg Alumni & Friends Weekend, taking place from August 18th to 20th. This three-day event is a celebration of the Burgmann spirit, bringing together generations of "Burgmannites" and "Burgies" including current residents, staff, and supporters from across the years. It's a time to connect, reconnect, and rejoice in the bonds that have been formed within our cherished community.

Our weekend program offers a variety of activities, allowing participants to engage in beloved traditions, catch up with fellow alumni, and build and strengthen relationships across generations. It's an opportunity to witness firsthand how the Burgmann spirit lives on and continues to shape the lives of its members.

During our recent Family Weekend Ball at the esteemed National Museum of Australia, we were honored to have Burgmann alumna Sai Campbell launch our 2023 Bursary Appeal. Sai's personal journey is a testament to the impact of Burgmann's support. With the help of a Burgmann Bursary in 2019, she was able to pursue her studies at ANU. Sai's achievements include being named a 2023 Rhodes Scholar and receiving the Tillyard Prize (ANU) and the Burgmann College Medal after completing her Bachelor of Philosophy (Science) with Honours in 2022. Sai's story is an inspiration, and she encourages our community to contribute to the Burgmann Bursary Fund, ensuring that future residents have access to the same opportunities.

At Burgmann College, we firmly believe in equal access to education and opportunity for students from all backgrounds. This has been a core value since our establishment in 1971. Unfortunately, the rising cost of living has made it increasingly challenging for diverse and low-SES students to pursue higher education. Many low-SES students, especially those from regional backgrounds, find it unattainable to move for university due to the associated financial burdens.
