About the Business
Welcome to Gordon Primary School, a unique and contemporary establishment located at 15 Knoke Avenue in Gordon, Australia. As a point of interest and a primary school, we are dedicated to providing an exceptional learning experience for our students.
At Gordon Primary School, we prioritize the inquiry-based learning approach, allowing children to actively engage in understanding how they learn. We have recently embarked on a new cycle of school improvement, aligning our teaching methods with international and national research while adapting them to suit the local context of our school.
Our innovative learning experiences are designed to be authentic, ensuring that children understand the purpose behind their education. We focus on teaching them "big ideas" that foster important dispositions such as creativity, compassion, curiosity, and confidence. Through collaboration between children and educators, we co-construct learning opportunities that nurture student agency and empower them to take ownership of their education. Regular feedback is provided to students, guiding them towards their next steps in learning.
Inclusivity is a core value at Gordon Primary School. We differentiate our learning experiences to accommodate the needs of every child, ensuring that they can fully participate and strive for their personal best. Our community is collaborative, with a strong emphasis on developing students' capabilities and prioritizing their wellbeing. We cultivate a safe, respectful, and responsible learning environment for all.
As part of the Tuggeranong Network, Gordon Primary School has established itself as a warm and caring community that welcomes visitors and new families. With a current enrollment of 530 students ranging from P-6, we take pride in our students and our school. We hold high expectations for all children and provide ongoing professional learning opportunities for our staff to implement evidence-based instructional practices effectively.
As the leader of this school community, I am deeply committed to working collaboratively with the Gordon Primary School community to drive improvement for both students and staff. We believe that the wellbeing of our staff is crucial in creating the best possible conditions for them to excel in their roles. By prioritizing wellbeing, collaborative partnerships, and inclusive high impact practices, we foster an environment where school communities can learn, grow, and thrive together.
We value the importance of positive partnerships with families, recognizing that they play a crucial role in their child's education. Together, we can achieve great things for the next generation of young people.

"this school is mean!! There's a specific teacher here, that sadly picks favourite's. I won't name her but she loves a specific sports teams. One time she had the audacity to grab my wrist hard and drag me for a silly reason. Sure there's good teachers that are funny..but some year 6 teachers make me sad...another thing is I got PELTED in the eye with a ball and it swelled really bad...the same teacher did not care...please improve ur teachers behaviour."
"I don't know what's going on with this school nowadays but going here was a bit of a wild ride!! some teacher made me eat a sausage roll out of the bin once and yes I remember that and if your reading this that wasn't very nice :,( but a good amount of the teachers here were pretty good, though some a bit... eh I will not drop names since that's not really needed. some good times but lot's of bad times it's not too bad of a school, I'm in year 9 now. nowhere near the best school but probably the best one in the area. be warned there were some crazy kids in younger grades I remember- that potentially still are at the school. I miss some of the teachers to be honest"
"Truthfully I went to this school for 8 years From preschool to year 6 and it is a amazing school for everyone."
"Was here 2004 to 2007 in sporting house Hayley Lewis. Fun fact, it was also around the time Mr. Bruce took over as Principal! We sung the school song with not only our voices but also using sign language."
"A Testimonial to Mr Bruce and all the Wonderful Teachers and Staff at Gordon Primary... Our oldest boy, James has now begun his High School journey at Lanyon High and reflects on all the Wonderful memories at Primary School... Our other boys Rhyse and Kai are still enjoying their Learning Journey at this wonderful and and highly recognised and structured school. I would Highly Recommend this School to anyone looking to enroll their little ones. Thank you again Mr Bruce for everything that you have done for our Boys...."
