"Worst emergency service ever. Finally pain was gone due to frustration caused by excessive wait time. It would be understandable if they were understaffed or really busy. But it was neither. Staff was having nice chats and giggles every nook and corner while patients were waiting. This emergency service doesn’t deserve even 1 star."
"I went to ED at noon yesterday for my right wrist surgery because the wound got infection. After checking in with the nice receptionist, I only waited for 5 minutes and then just was taken in by a male nurse. Thanks to Dr. Erin, she was very nice. But the male nurse was hurry and impatient. When he checked my operation area, he turned my surgery arm too hard that made me feel very painful and worried about the cut ulnar was effected because it was just shortened three weeks ago and the two sides of the cut bone don’t united together yet. I don’t think he was happy to work on the Easter. But anyway, other than that, he has given me all of what I need to disinfect and protect the wound at home, so still thanks."
"4+hours waiting at ED and still waiting. 4 nurses and 1 doctor chitchatting, 3 spaces empty. I mean wth is this nonsense. I could have gone to Sydney and have had my son checked out already by now. They surely have issues. They messed up my father’s hand before, from the operation and the wait time is becoming worse and worse. Do expect 4+ hours of wait if you must come to this ED. Would have given a minus star if there was one"
"I was at the ED a few days ago & I would like to Compliment Dr Pradeep Malaka Manawadu for his help and welcoming Bedside Maner. (Excellent Doctor). Please also compliment One of the ED Nurses (Emily) I hope I remembered correctly...She was also welcoming, friendly and attentive. I was a very busy day on the 9th of March and with everything happening at once with many overwhelming cases, but my Experience was first class!!! Everyone is quick to criticise the Public System but positive compliments need to also be acknowledged..."
"It is HORRIFYING, ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE! The triage nurse Reena was not at all helpful! Rude, slow, showing no empathy, could not communicate clearly, have zero customer service skills!!!! There was no greeting or “how can I help” when we were called to the counter - she just looked at me directly as if I should know where to start. My son’s situation was kinda complicated but she had no patience to hear it, interrupted me and made a diagnosis: “you just need to give him panadol as hes just got viral infection”. Excuse me?! Reena, you did not even know what my son looks like yet! We ended up waiting for 5hours and my sons temperature got to 40.3! Finally got a doctor because I lost it and shouted for help! The doctor was on face value friendly but only spent 10 min doing basic checks- I told him my son did abdomen ultrasound 2 days ago but he said he did not have the report…(?!). We were discharged in 15min and three days later we had to return to ED as his situation worsened! My poor 4-yr old had to do X-ray, blood test and urine test and the pediatric suggested hospital admission - yes it was that bad! Parents cannot rely on these so called professionals because they see sick people everyday and they do not care anymore! If you could, get a few options, go see a few different GP or call a home doc. Otherwise your kids would suffer! From a very very angry mum. Reena, I have remembered you."
