About the Business
Welcome to Dernancourt Primary School, a prestigious establishment located in Dernancourt, Parsons Road, 29. As a prominent point of interest and primary school in Australia, we are dedicated to providing a quality education and nurturing environment that maximizes the potential of all our students.
At Dernancourt School, we believe in fostering a strong sense of community and promoting positive relationships. Our school's logo and mission, "Learning Together," perfectly encapsulate the supportive environment we strive to create. Our core values of cooperation, confidence, commitment, and respect form the foundation of our educational approach.
We are proud to offer an outstanding Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) program that is an integral part of our school and local community. Our OSHC program ensures that students receive comprehensive support and care beyond regular school hours, providing parents with peace of mind.
In line with our commitment to delivering innovative education, Dernancourt School has successfully implemented a laptop program since 2021. This initiative allows our students to access enhanced learning opportunities both in the classroom and at home, empowering them with essential digital skills for the future.
We are thrilled to introduce our new online curriculum portal, Our Learning SA. Developed by department curriculum managers and expert teachers, this platform offers a wide range of educational materials and activities across all learning areas in the Early Years Framework and the Australian Curriculum. Whether you are a family seeking resources or a teacher looking for targeted materials, Our Learning SA has you covered.
We firmly believe that instilling a love of reading is one of the greatest gifts we can give to children. Our Literacy Pro Test helps students identify their Lexile level, enabling them to choose books that are appropriate for their reading abilities. With access to Lexiled books and online quizzes through the Scholastic website, our students can develop their reading skills independently while receiving guidance and motivation from their teachers and parents.
To enhance convenience for our school community, we now offer the option to pay school fees through the new BPoint payment system. This streamlined process ensures a hassle-free experience for parents.
Furthermore, Dernancourt School is proud to have funding from the Federal Government for a Christian Pastoral Support Worker (DEEWR), demonstrating our commitment to providing holistic support for our students' well-being.
Stay connected with Audiri, our free school app designed for parents and teachers. With Audiri, all important school communication is consolidated in one place, ensuring that you and your children never miss out on any updates or events. "The oval is bad. I cut up my knees when I fell over. Love mr Barbara and Ms Nikolopolos"
"Didn’t have the greatest time at this school, but the hotdogs and dino nuggets from the canteen were fantastic"
"I went here from reception all the way to year 7 (I was part of the last year 7's to graduate)"
"Love it I made lots of friends there so it’s good"
"Pretty terrible school, basically torturous going there everyday. Some of the worst teachers I’ve ever had, and when complaints are sent to leadership, nothing is done. Some teachers don’t want to be there, and despite the complaints they receive time and time again, leadership continue to back up the teachers and let their behaviour continue. Child behaviour isn’t dealt with properly. No real consequences, just handed a slap on the wrist and a “reflection” form which does absolutely nothing. Learnt next to nothing in senior years, and basically wasted my time when I could’ve gotten a higher quality education elsewhere. A few decent teachers there, but many of them have run their course and need to move on, not just stay and collect their pay check. Don’t waste your time and money on this school."
