Our team is led by Dr. Laing Felicity, a co-director of Mitcham Rehab and Marion Sports Physio. With a wealth of experience, Dr. Felicity has developed our physiotherapy practice to offer a wide range of therapies for the management of musculoskeletal injuries and conditions. He holds a Masters of Physiotherapy from UniSA, specializing in both Sports and Musculoskeletal physiotherapy. Dr. Felicity's dedication to his field is evident through his continued involvement in lecturing and tutoring in internationally recognized courses.
Dr. Felicity has had the privilege of working extensively with athletes at prestigious institutions such as the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) and the South Australian Sports Institute (SASI). His expertise extends to working as a physiotherapist at the 1996 Melbourne Commonwealth Games and the past four Paralympic Games. Currently, he is a team physiotherapist for Australian Swimming. Dr. Felicity's commitment to advancing his knowledge led him to complete a Clinical Doctorate in Physiotherapy through La Trobe University, with a research focus on tendon, bone, and children/adolescent injuries.
Another valued member of our team is Michael, a highly experienced Physiotherapist with 20 years of practice. He was granted the title of Specialist Sports Physiotherapist in South Australia in 2009, making him the first in the state to receive this recognition. As a Fellow of the Australian College of Physiotherapy, Michael brings a wealth of expertise to our clinic. He has served as a team Physiotherapist for the Port Adelaide Football Club in the AFL since 2001 and is the consultant Physiotherapist to the internationally acclaimed Australian Dance Theatre. Michael is also a sought-after speaker for organizations such as Sports Physiotherapy Australia and Sports Medicine Australia, both in Australia and internationally.
Matt, another valuable member of our team, has completed both undergraduate physiotherapy training in 2001 and a post-graduate Masters degree in Musculoskeletal and Sports Physiotherapy in 2011 at UniSA. He has previously worked as a team physiotherapist for the Port Adelaide Football Club and currently serves on the committee for the Australian Physiotherapy Association's Sports Physiotherapy Group in South Australia. Matt's special interests lie in football, distance running, and cycling. He also assists in Sports Physiotherapy Australia's Running Workshops for physiotherapists.
Lastly, we have Sam, who completed his undergraduate physiotherapy degree in 2012 and went on to obtain a Masters of Sports Physiotherapy in 2019. His remarkable career as an international gymnast, representing Australia at six World Championships and earning two gold medals at the 2010 Delhi Commonwealth Games, has provided him with a unique perspective in elite sports. Sam has utilized his extensive knowledge to support his physiotherapy career, working with Gymnastics Australia and South Australia, as well as contributing to the development of swimming squads with Swimming South Australia.
