Welcome to AikiKids (CLG), a renowned institution located in Colonel Light Gardens, West Parkway, Australia. As an establishment focused on health and personal development, we specialize in teaching Aikido, a modern martial art that emphasizes neutralizing attacks without causing harm to opponents.

At AikiKids, our classes are designed to instill discipline, respect, and personal growth in children. We firmly believe in the invaluable gifts that martial arts can provide. Unlike other programs, we do not teach techniques that can potentially damage growing bodies or promote a violent response to conflict.

One of our core teachings is that being strong does not equate to being a bully. We emphasize the importance of understanding that the true opponent lies within ourselves, aligning with the principles of Budo (way of the warrior).

Exciting news! We will be starting new AikiKids classes in Old Reynella from August 2023. Aikido is an excellent choice for children as it does not rely on physical strength to be effective in self-defense situations. Our syllabus equips children with the skills to neutralize strikes, escape grabs and holds, while ensuring their safety by excluding joint locking techniques that may be unsuitable for their developing bodies.

AikiKids goes beyond physical training. Our classes help children develop coordination, balance, flexibility, and overall muscle tone, while also fostering awareness of their surroundings. Interacting with others in the Dojo teaches humility, self-respect, and respect for others. Additionally, periods of sitting quietly and still promote self-discipline, teaching children the importance of regulating their energy between activity and stillness.

Our kids' classes are a perfect blend of fun and physical activity, providing an outlet for their natural energy while also incorporating moments of calm and focus. We strive to ensure that our students leave the mats feeling relaxed and having had a great time.

Above all, we encourage our students to practice Aikido to feel good, boost their confidence, strengthen themselves physically and mentally, and continuously challenge themselves.
