"Great views from the penthouses and the location is great with a short walk to Currumbin alley and Currumbin beach. Even saw whales and dolphins from the balcony! The heated pool, spa and sauna were great too! Highly recommended."

"The staircase smelled like urine. Apartment was ok, it was clean. Had a good sleep. Oh but there was no elevator—had to carry my 23kg suitcase up 6 flights of stairs. Also we were given only 2 keys and only one garage opener, even though we were 6 people and there with 2 cars. Also, the instructions to get there were unclear; we got lost 3 times. This could easily be fixed with better signage and better instructions. Last but not least: given the right conditions, aircraft (737, a320, a330, 787...) arriving into OOL fly quite low and directly over Currumbin; I quite liked that but some may find it bothersome."

"Great location. My mother, grandmother, wife, children and I stayed for 2 nights in a 3-bed apartment. My kids loved the beach around the mouth of Currumbin creek. But this is a review of a "4-star resort" rather than Currumbin. A few things spoiled it: - dirty dishes/glasses/cookware - old food dried onto them etc - urine around toilet hinge - some broken utensils, blunt knives, worn pans need replacing - broken kitchen light - the fitting spontaneously fell from the ceiling one evening (luckily no-one was directly underneath it) - loose timber surround around the microwave - after it nearly landed on several guests' feet we decided it was much safer left off the microwave - broken light switch to the master ensuite - beds are very firm (uncomfortable for most guests but this is really personal preference). These little things would be easy to fix so we simply notified management - several are safety and/or hygiene issues so need to be addressed, of course. We even planned to rebook the apartment. However, after enquiring with Sandra directly (who offered us the same apartment) I booked through Agoda (much better deal) and the abuse started with a claim we had been "disrespectful" in how we had left the apartment and that it would take "a day" to clean after we had been there (note - my wife went back an hour after check out to retrieve my son's toy that Sandra had thrown into the communal bin - "cleaning" had been completed). We discovered from management (Sandra was both rude and difficult to comprehend in her emails) that they rely on previous guests to clean (though they provide no dustpan) including vacuuming. Unsure about mopping. I asked what the cleaning requirements were and only received further abuse and a claim that there was rubbish on the floors (not so, other than sweepings) and rubbish had not been removed (not so - we took out the trash and separated recycling - though apparently they do not recycle here which is a big shame). I do not think they disinfect bathrooms/showers etc in between visits - at least not properly (dried urine around toilet seat hinges, for instance). They do not advertise the onerous cleaning requirements prior to booking - but expect a tirade should you put the old dishwasher (slightly broken, no explanation of the cryptic markings on it) on prior to check out and not be able to unload it (it had not finished by the time we checked out). Apparently, dirty dishes straight back in the cupboard is acceptable; clean dishes in the dishwasher are not. Go figure."
