"After returning from a year abroad in Japan where I started practising judo at a local school, I decided I wanted to continue a martial art here in Adelaide. My friend told me about Okami Hapkido so I went and gave it a try. Everyone at the club is super friendly, supportive and super down-to-Earth. The techniques and drills I've learnt so far have been interesting, useful and at the perfect level for me. I'm enjoying it a lot and I've only been here for a month. I'm looking forward to continuing down this path and meeting like-minded new friends through the dojo!"
"Definitely an authentic practice. The instructors actually have a lineage to which they have learned, honed and passed on that knowledge through the years which shows the authenticity of the practice and makes me feel confident that the knowledge isn't something ungrounded or not been tested/scrutinised. The instructors also have real-world applications of the knowledge and are not limited to just sport-combat scenarios and mentalities which is really important for me. From experience, the real world is vastly different and chaotic compared to the confines of sports combat so to be armed with the potential skills and knowledge to navigate said world is paramount. Also, the training and standards are very traditional and appropriate - a homage to the standards in Japan. I definitely do not feel like I've joined a diluted martial practice but quite a legitimate one."
"Had my first lesson & wow .. its such a different experience.. very traditional also they have a great teacher.. who has been trained under a well established sensai 'Michael Peachman'.. has security experience, life experience & with the training/martial arts knowledge he provides.. it gives more credibility towards his work. Family orientated and somewhere that helps you with personal development outside of the Dojo. Definitely recommend!"
"Having had 15years experience in martial arts I can honestly say that the "Okami Hapkido" dojo has been an eye opening experience in blending traditional values to a modern environment. Sensei Nathan has an extensive amount of experience in martial arts and security and it shows in his philosophies and approach to training. This isn't a gym for the faint of heart and requires (in my opinion) previous experience in Martial arts"
