Reviews
"Horrible experience - employees are so rude and useless. I am vegan and I asked what they have vegan and the answer of the lady was look at what we have and get what we want. Spend your money somewhere else, they don`t deserve your hard earned money. If anyone at Bond is reading this, it is time to change the ownership of this Cafe immediately."
"Some staff are friendly and others won’t even acknowledge you when you go up to order. It’s very difficult to get a coffee which doesn’t taste bitter and burnt. It’s almost unpalatable. On the weekends, however, the coffee is great. I think the cafe would benefit greatly from barista training."
"All reviews of Asian International students are true. Some of the female staff are so unprofessional. I just saw she ask and give another girl before me a reward card. But she didn't do so for me. She also didn’t stir my coffee well so the matcha powder is not melt. Another time one staff forgot my food. Every time I say thank you when I'm leaving I Don't get a response. But I saw the staffs say something nice back to a lot of white people. I suspect that there is some bad atmosphere here. If one Asian student says so it might be a mistake. But I felt not welcomed most of time. Some Asian people don’t leave a review because of shyness and kindness, don’t know how to fight for rights. But I must tell my bad feeling because I have never felt so bad in other cafes on the Gold Coast. Because you are a cafe inside a prestigious university, you should do better."
"We used to buy coffee at the cafe which is facing the lake at Bond Uni. However we stopped it and decided not coming back. The reason being that one afternoon, we were waiting for our coffee. A female staff came to me and started blaming me for taking away other customers coffee earlier. For that I felt confused and upset because I NEVER did that and actually I have an experience of my coffee taken by a German male student who have ordered his coffee later than me. I didn't say anything at that time but I couldn't stop thinking that staff picked me because I am an Asian international student (I wish that's not true)."
"I have three "unforgettable" experiences here. One time, a young lady forgot my toast and I waited for 10min (didn't go there during the peak and only me one customer). For another two times, the same old lady asked me "is this yours?" once and hold my food in her hand then going to talk with another white girl and ignored me. I'm sure she's not kidding and this is cultural inequality."
