Welcome to Paediatric Play, a mobile service provider dedicated to serving clients and families across South Australia. Our mission is to offer our services to children aged 2-17 and their families in their natural environments, whether it be their home, Montessori, early learning centre, preschool, or school.

At Paediatric Play, we understand the importance of providing therapy in a familiar and functional environment. That's why our team of highly trained therapists will come to you, eliminating the burden of travel and allowing you to focus on your child's needs without the added stress of juggling other children or family members.

Our occupational therapists work with children to support them with their life occupations. For children, their lives are made up of daily activities such as learning, playing, socializing, and self-care. We aim to facilitate social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development by helping children build on their strengths and bridge any gaps in their development, enabling them to participate in activities with confidence and motivation.

Our speech pathologists specialize in diagnosing and treating communication disorders. They work with individuals who have difficulties with speaking, listening, understanding language, reading, writing, social skills, stuttering, and using their voice. Whether it's due to developmental delays, stroke, brain injuries, learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, cerebral palsy, dementia, hearing loss, or other speech and language problems, our speech pathologists are here to help. They can also assist those experiencing difficulties swallowing food and drink safely.

Our developmental educators collaborate with people with disabilities to promote inclusion and address barriers. They use a range of skills and theories to assess individuals and their environments, applying developmental, behavioral, learning, and social theories. By understanding the person and their environment, our developmental educators can help create a more inclusive and supportive environment.

At Paediatric Play, we also work with children who face emotional and social challenges in addition to developmental or physical disabilities. We recognize that a child's environment plays a significant role in their occupation, which is why we base our clinical reasoning and approach on the Person-Environment-Occupation (PEO) model. This model emphasizes the interaction between the person, environment, and occupation to shape occupational performance.

Our services are available in various settings, including home, educational institutions, and the community. We take a developmental approach to therapy, ensuring that each session is tailored to the child's goals and concerns. We set short-term objectives and work towards both short and long-term development goals.
