Gully Road North Reserve 13 John Street, Seaview Downs, South Australia 5049
About the Business
Welcome to Gully Road North Reserve, located in the picturesque suburb of Seaview Downs, Australia. This establishment is not just your average point of interest, but a haven for exploration and sensory stimulation for children and adults alike.
At Gully Road North Reserve, children can unleash their inner construction engineer as they hone their building skills with the digger. With a little teamwork, they can even construct a dam and forge a river from the water spout at the top of the sandpit. The possibilities for collaborative play are endless!
For inclusive sand play, an elevated wooden-mirrored sand table is conveniently located beside the concrete path. This feature is wheelchair accessible, ensuring that everyone can partake in the fun.
The reserve boasts established trees that provide a shady refuge in this natural setting, creating a tranquil atmosphere. A large grassy kick-about area to the south of the nature play area offers ample space for a game of soccer or a lively game of chase.
Thrill-seekers will be drawn to the tall climbing-net, shaded with a sail, which challenges even the most nimble climbers to reach the top and enjoy the breathtaking view. For a unique exit, adventurers can make their way down a rope bridge and slide.
Giant boulders and logs encircle the climbing net, adding a sense of magnificence to the space. Test your skills and see if you can navigate the ring without losing your balance.
A basket swing situated above the climbing net area provides a relaxing experience for individuals or a fun experience for a group. This inclusive swing allows people who may not usually access swings to join in the fun.
Sports enthusiasts will be delighted to find a 3 on 3 basketball court at the northern end of the reserve. Additionally, the basketball post features a netball ring, and an integrated cricket pitch with unique boulder wickets adds a touch of uniqueness to the space.
To cater to visitors' needs, an accessible toilet is conveniently located on the Gully Road side of the reserve. Further down the page, you can discover more about the unique artwork featured on the toilet.
Enjoy a picnic at the reserve with the available picnic table, shelter, and wheelchair accessible BBQ, all overlooking the active area. Even from this vantage point, you will still have a good line of sight to the nature play and sports area.
Stay hydrated with the drinking fountain, which also includes a dog water bowl for our furry friends. Various seating areas are scattered throughout the reserve, offering opportunities to rest and take in the surroundings.
Disabled access parking and off-street parking are available on the Gully Road side of the reserve, ensuring convenience for all visitors.
As a nod to the past, the previous playground's retro rockers have been refurbished and given a new lease on life. While they may no longer rock, they still attract children to have a "ride" and add a touch of nostalgia to the reserve. The bespoke artwork on the toilet reflects the site, concept design, and references the retro rockers.

Reviews
"Lacking in little kid stuff in that any kid under the age of let's say 3, will have no chance of climbing up the slide unassisted. That said, the sandpit and the feature of the water spout kept our 18mth old occupied for quite a while and she didn't want to leave."
"Seems popular. Has a public toilet, some good play equipment. Looks like a great park for walking dogs."
"Well set out reasonable amount of parking and plenty of room for families. Good facilities."
"I like the old playgrounds better. It's nice enough with a toilet and water now. Separately. It could do with a flying fox. That would be totally awesome."
