"Great food, welcoming staff and good atmosphere. However both of our allergies were not taken seriously. Two plates were brought out one after the other, both with sesame seeds. The waitress apologised and we were given the correct order. I have a shellfish allergy which was catered for however a small piece of what seemed to be shrimp was floating in my drink, luckily spotted before I took a sip. Other than this we enjoyed the food but this needs to be taken more seriously as someone could get hurt."
"I have been dying to try this spot and didn’t disappoint! We had the set lunch menu and everything was delicious. Dumplings were so good that I didn’t have time to take a picture! Service was friendly and good. Next time I would order a little bit of everything to try a bigger variety."
"Shosho is a sister restaurant to Shobosho, located in the inner suburbs serving a similar modern Japanese menu with a focus on tempura dishes. Dined here and ordered a number of dishes, majority of them from the tempura section of the menu. Most of the dishes were quite tasty; the tempura coating itself doesn't have much flavour but comes with a different dip or seasoning to pair with. Highlight was the broccolini, onion rings and the shiitake mushrooms; very tasty and good portions. The perilla, scallop and finger dumpling on the other hand was too small; and the blue swimmer crab was disappointing as it was over seasoned with white pepper and the rice barely had any texture. Overall it was a good meal with some hit and miss but a bit too pricey for the dishes ordered. Service was good."
