"In my opinion, they are extremely unprofessional. Their service has been of poor quality in my opinion. Although I notified them of cancelation, they continued to charge me for services not rendered. I could not recommend this clinic in good faith to anyone truly seeking help. One primary example of the unprofessionalism from my personal experience: In a group session, the group leader mentioned that we would miss a session, but that we could do the work ourselves that week, which is essentially workbook pages and some video content reexplaining the concepts. I essentially said that I would like to receive the full number of sessions that I'm paying for. In the days following the session, I received a phone call from the group leader, she was crying and distressed, she expressed how she was personally offended by my sentiments. I felt that the way I had communicated the desire to receive a service I had paid for was quite respectful at the time. She couldn't articulate specifically what was offensive or hurtful about it, but it was clear she had some negative reaction to it. I found this extremely unprofessional, because in my opinion she was looking for me to regulate how she felt, when I was the client. In my opinion, a professional would not call a client with their personal issues as the topic of discussion."
"The team at Essential Health have been very approachable & considerate of my circumstances to enroll in a DBT class this year. I was fortunate to have met Erick Piggott who Mentored me during the DBT program earlier 2023. The therapy has been delivered in a Professional manner, that has been very adaptable to offer me what has been "life saving skills." I had previously been to other Therapists that had not been very effective, to the point that when I was first aware of Essential Health. I had just survived a catastrophic event, during my recovery at the Princess Alexandra hospital. The Mental Health team advised me that I should participate in a DBT course. I am also very grateful that Essential Health endorse NDIS as well. Which enabled me to enroll in their private, personalized DBT class program. Instead of having to rely on the already backlogged Government Public Hospital system. I have more recently been under the guidance of Crystal Black, who has been very inspirational. Well done Essential Health."
"I am very impressed with the help they have given my friend. The content was very beneficial. Great work!"
"This place is a joke. Really paternalistic and gatekeeping in their service delivery, and wanted to try and push me into a program that was not evidence-based for my (serious) diagnosis. When I insisted on receiving the evidence-based treatment they said it would be "unethical". You'd think psychologists would know about projection"
