About the Business
Welcome to St Jude's Players Inc., a vibrant institution located in the heart of Brighton, Australia. Situated on Brighton Road, our establishment is a point of interest that brings together the community through the magic of theater.
At St Jude's Players, we believe in the power of storytelling and the transformative experience of live performances. Our upcoming production, "Scarlett's Dream," explores the fascinating life of Scarlett, a 36-year-old waitress who immerses herself in a world of fantasy and romance. Living with her mother and without a boyfriend, Scarlett finds solace in her active imagination, dreaming of being with her boss, Steve, while also being pursued by the awkward Alan.
As a waitress, Scarlett spends her working hours in a restaurant, where she reenacts scenes from classic romantic movies with her co-worker Gordon, the gay kitchen hand. In her reveries, she becomes the leading lady alongside iconic Hollywood figures such as Clark Gable, Cary Grant, Errol Flynn, and Humphrey Bogart. However, when real-life romance unexpectedly enters the picture, Scarlett must navigate the complexities of love and step out of the shadow of the Hollywood fairy-tale.
Here at St Jude's Players, we prioritize the health and safety of our audience and performers. We kindly request that individuals experiencing even minor symptoms of Covid-19 refrain from attending our shows. Additionally, we encourage everyone to maintain hand hygiene at all times, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all.
Looking ahead to our 2024 season, St Jude's Players is excited to announce a lineup of captivating productions. Our immersive season will feature classic English comedies, historical dramas brought to life on stage, and gritty Australian stories that resonate with our diverse community.
Operating out of a church hall in Brighton, a charming suburb of Adelaide, South Australia, St Jude's Players Inc. is a community theater group driven by passionate volunteers. While our roots are connected to St Jude's, membership is open to anyone with an interest in quality community theater.
Throughout the year, we typically host three full-length productions that span a range of genres, including comedies, dramas, and musicals. Although our hall may not be the largest, seating around 180 people, we guarantee that the energy and enthusiasm of our performers will raise the roof. And of course, food and drink play a prominent role in our celebrations and gatherings throughout the year, ensuring a truly memorable experience for all.
If you are a director with a passion for theater, we invite you to submit your plays for consideration in our 2025 Production Season. We are always eager to showcase new talent and bring captivating stories to life on our stage.
Join us at St Jude's Hall, located at 444 Brighton Rd, Brighton, SA, 5048 Australia, and immerse yourself in the magic of live theater. Experience the joy, laughter, and heartfelt emotions that only a community theater can offer. We look forward to welcoming you to St Jude's Players Inc., where dreams come alive on stage.

Reviews
"Excellent performance made we want to get involved:)"
"A lovely little venue, with all the facilities. Went to see Dogfight muscial production - quality sound, a fairly small stage was utilised very well, a kitchen was avilable to buy beverages and hot tea or coffee. There are access toilets. Car parking was not clearly sign posted off a busy main road, but apart from that, a very enjoyable experience."
"Tonight's opening of Things l Know to be True is superbly strong. The story of an Adelaide family so well cast by Geoff Britain. A powerful production - one not to be missed. Onya St Jude. David Sabine"
