About the Business
Welcome to the Bradley Building, UniSA's flagship research, teaching, and public engagement facility located on Morphett Street in Adelaide, Australia. This institution is not just your average establishment, but a point of interest and a university that holds immense importance in the field of clinical and health sciences research.
Within the Bradley Building, you will find UniSA's key research concentrations dedicated to investigating diseases such as cancer, diabetes, heart and cardiovascular diseases, and various related therapies. This establishment also serves as a base for research in population health, radiotherapy, and genomics. Additionally, it houses state-of-the-art teaching spaces for fields like pharmacy and other postgraduate programs.
One of the highlights of the Bradley Building is the futuristic Museum of Discovery, MOD, which offers a unique and immersive experience for visitors. It is a testament to the innovative spirit and forward-thinking approach of UniSA.
Named in honor of UniSA's former Vice Chancellor Emeritus Professor Denise Bradley AC, the Bradley Building stands as a modern symbol of her remarkable legacy and contribution to the university. Professor Bradley's achievements are immeasurable, and her impact on UniSA and higher education in Australia is widely celebrated. As Vice Chancellor, she led conversations on global and online learning, higher education funding, and program development, always prioritizing equity and access to tertiary education.
The Bradley Building is a reminder that individuals like Denise Bradley are the catalysts for change, shaping fairer societies, and lighting the way for future generations. It has also been bestowed with a Kaurna name, Purruna Wardli, meaning Healthy Place, reflecting the significance of indigenous culture and heritage.
In March 2021, a special ceremony marked the official dedication of the building, coinciding with UniSA's 30th anniversary. The event brought together family members, colleagues, and distinguished guests to unveil Professor Bradley's portrait and an engraving featuring a quote from her farewell address. The Governor of South Australia, His Excellency the Honorable Hieu Van Le, and other esteemed figures were present to honor Professor Bradley's profound contributions.
Adding to the building's allure, there is now a massive LED screen on its eastern façade, serving as a new city landmark. This screen celebrates education, research, culture, and the vibrant rhythm of life in South Australia.
UniSA acknowledges and pays respect to the Kaurna, Boandik, and Barngarla First Nations Peoples and their Elders, past and present, as the Traditional Owners of the lands that are now home to our campuses in Adelaide, Mount Gambier, and Whyalla. This recognition underscores UniSA's commitment to inclusivity and cultural diversity.
