"Over a month ago I called Yonda to request a refund on behalf of my elderly father. He had been misled into purchasing a Black Card membership, paying many thousands of dollars. In the last five weeks, I have made two phone calls and sent five emails. I also submitted a serious complaint detailing multiple issues regarding predatory tactics and false advertising by Yonda's Black Card salesperson. Yonda has not taken action to resolve the issue. In more detail, my father was targeted for a Black Card membership during the Covid lockdowns when travel was almost impossible - particularly for elderly people in the vulnerable health category. I spent time communicating with Yonda staff at this point, making it clear that my father does not use the internet or a mobile phone. This type of service is simply not appropriate for him. Then, last month, a salesperson at Yonda contacted my father again and extracted another large sum (1'000s) from him. They told him this was the only way to get access to the original, larger "investment". They told him that he could use the money for specific flights, which he can't. The salesperson targeted my father despite knowing my father could not use the service, that no one had made use of Yonda's service in the past two years, and that my father should not have been targeted in the first place. Yonda simply and callously went back for more money. And they took it from a person who is now in his 80s. This could be seen as elder abuse. In good faith, I have repeatedly attempted to resolve this situation with Yonda, only to be ignored and deflected. Yonda says it offers a tailored service to Black Card members, but their actions tell a different story. Their actions are the hallmarks of a scam. I am posting to warn and protect others from the predatory sales tactics Yonda allows and tacitly endorses, especially its treatment of the elderly."
