"They put too much pressure on kids, nit pick about everything. Too bad if you’re sick or have sick kids they’ll shame you if your kids have time off for sickness. You’ll have to get sick notes from your doctor. I’ve had to spend hours in waiting rooms with my kids as sick as dogs just to get up to date sick notes. Think they forget who the parents are. If I could change my sons school I would."
"Dear Coombabah State High School Administration, I am writing this review to express my utmost disappointment and concern regarding the way you handle your teachers, particularly the art teacher at your institution. It is disheartening to witness the lack of discipline and appropriate punishments for their behavior. I have encountered several distressing incidents during my time at your school, and I feel compelled to share my experiences. Firstly, I have been subjected to verbal attacks by the art teacher, who, in addition to her inappropriate behavior, had the audacity to complain when I attempted to change my appearance within my artwork. It is essential for educators to create a safe and inclusive environment for students, irrespective of their personal choices. This incident clearly demonstrates a lack of respect and understanding on her part. Furthermore, the art teacher falsely accused me of using profanity towards her, despite the fact that I did not engage in such behavior. It is deeply concerning when a teacher fails to accurately assess a situation and instead makes baseless claims against a student. Additionally, I was appalled when the dean attempted to gaslight me into believing that I was in the wrong, further exacerbating the issue. To make matters worse, the art teacher went as far as claiming that nobody swears in her class, which is a blatant disregard for the truth. This denial of reality not only undermines the teacher's credibility but also creates an environment where students feel invalidated and unheard. Moreover, the dean's response to my concerns was utterly dismissive, instructing me to "suck up" the misconduct and suggesting that I am incapable of reacting appropriately. It is the responsibility of the school administration to address student concerns seriously and provide effective solutions, rather than brushing them off. Another distressing incident occurred when the dean issued an after-school detention solely because I had used profanity. While I understand the need for consequences, it is crucial that punishments are administered fairly and proportionately. This action appears to be an arbitrary use of power rather than a constructive measure aimed at helping students learn from their mistakes. Furthermore, the art teacher's behavior extended beyond me, as she yelled at my friend for expressing a desire to change classes. This unprofessional conduct, coupled with her attempt to tarnish my reputation, demonstrates a clear bias and targeting of specific students. It is unacceptable for a teacher to engage in such behavior, especially when it causes other students to leave the class due to her negative attitude and the impact it has on their artwork. In conclusion, the experiences I have detailed above paint a troubling picture of the environment at Coombabah State High School, particularly within the art department. The lack of discipline and the failure to address inappropriate behavior displayed by the art teacher, as well as the dismissive response from the dean, are indicative of a larger issue that needs to be urgently addressed. As an educational institution, it is your responsibility to ensure the well-being and growth of your students, and I sincerely hope that you take these concerns seriously and take appropriate actions to rectify these problems. Do better."
"So one of teachers at this school engages in online harassment and physical stalking. We finally find out who this woman is, who's been harassing and stalking us for 1 year, and she's a teacher at a state school around the corner!! No wander the kids have issues, the teachers literally engage in online trolling."
"I understand that it's hard to manage students as teachers, but there is a high amount of non interested and non compliant ignorant teens who prefer to disrupt the school learning process rather than complying with it. The teachers are understandable and good at what they do, i don't however agree with the school art initiative curriculum. It isn't even about your capabilities as an artist anymore, its mainly consistent on your writing and analysing capabilities. This is a strange way of teaching art as a subject, if we are forced to write about the concept of art then what's the purpose of putting it on a canvas if all we care about is the context and a 700 word essay about why you did it?"
