Unfortunately, due to extensive vandalism, the public toilet at Capella Drive Reserve is currently closed until further notice. However, there are toilets conveniently located nearby at Glade Crescent Reserve and Nannigai Drive Reserve.

Capella Drive Reserve has recently undergone an exciting upgrade to provide new recreational facilities for the community. The upgrade includes a brand new skatepark, fitness equipment, playground, and amenities. One of the key aspects of the upgrade was the removal of the declared weed, Casuarina Glauca (Swamp Oak), from the southern edge of the oval. This removal will have various benefits, such as enabling the replanting of native plants in the area, improving passive surveillance of recreational facilities like the skatepark and carpark, and enhancing the local biodiversity corridor along Waterfall Creek.

The Capella Stage 2 upgrade was completed in August 2022, bringing even more exciting features to the reserve. The upgraded playground now boasts an impressively high mound slide, providing endless fun for children of all ages. Additionally, a newly expanded car park, 3 v 3 basketball court, and a curved rock climbing wall have been added to further enhance the recreational offerings.

The Capella Reserve Skatepark is a multi-discipline facility catering to all skill levels and riding styles. It features a snake run bowl and open street plaza, paying homage to the beloved aspects of the previous skatepark while incorporating contemporary flow lines and unique obstacles. Whether you're a beginner looking for a flatter surface to practice skate tricks or an experienced skater wanting to tackle grinding rails and surfaces, this skatepark has something for everyone. There is even a mini half pipe for those eager to practice different moves.

In addition to the recreational facilities, Capella Drive Reserve offers amenities such as a shelter, seating, and a drinking fountain. Stage 2 of the upgrade, currently under construction, will add toilets, picnic facilities, and ninja warrior fitness equipment.

The development of Capella Drive Reserve was made possible with the support of the Federal Government's Local Roads and Community Infrastructure program, which provided $1.29 million in funding towards the $3 million project. Construction of Stage 1, including the skatepark and carpark, was completed and officially opened in December 2021. Construction of Stage 2, focusing on the playground, is currently underway.
