Reviews
"Nice place for a family picnic and bbq. Bbq is free to operate. Large lawn area for frisbee, etc. on Eudoria street. Larger play equipment for little kids. Can do a small nature walk into and around the lake wetland area and viewing seat is thoughtful hidden gem. Across south-western side of Eudoria street, there is a walk trail around to another wetland area with an exotic willow tree and viewing area. Nice but small natural playground area. Open days and evenings but toilet facilities are locked after hours. Knowledgeable guides for day walks and night stalks as run by City of Gosnells periodically throughout the year. Highly recommend these. Also Friends of MC wetland meet most mondays for friendship and conservation work.. also recommend."
"Parking areas on Eudoria Street near the entrance to the North-east side of the park with a public toilet building and a playground & BBQ facility nearby. Beautiful lake with a special walkway right in the middle, with views of black swans and other wildlife birds calling this place home when the water level is quite high! Great to walk around the two lakes on each side of the road with some old native trees scattered around the park."
"Mary Carroll Park in Gosnells is one place where you would want to go. It is not very big; in 15 minutes you can walk it from one side to the other. They are two little bridges, some hidden paths with clean benches where you can spend time reading a book or watching the birds. One of the bridges is in repair now, which only shows the council dedication to properly take care of this reservation. If you are looking for a light walk into the wetland and a picnic, for having a nice time with the children to the clean playground, cycling around or having a BBQ on a grassy area, it is all there. My favourite is walking the park with my mutt. Sammie loves watching the birds and the movements on the lake. We even tried the playground. The Park is well maintained, regularly re-planted and cleaned by a group of dedicated volunteers. It also has some interesting informational boards about birds and animals that live in the wetland. Regardless summer or winter the park is alive. In the summer the lake slowly evaporates and when the wet season returns, the park is noisier than ever. Early mornings are particularly filled with birds calling. Sometimes the humans are not very nice, and they don’t clean after their dogs."
