"It seems the only way this company helps to reduce unemployment, is to make job seekers feel completely worthless to the point that they are driven to suicide, and there is statistical evidence to prove this. Prior to the inception of jobactive the suicide rate amongst unemployed was 3 times higher than general population. In 2019 (before covid 19) it was 7 times higher than general population."
"The only person who does any work is the receptionist. It is legitimately disturbing how little work is done in this place. I have spoken to management numerous times about how inefficient and poor their service is to no avail. Centrelink needs to audity these places more effectively. Empathy is almost non-existent, and as stated one person does basically everything, she is an asset to the company, while the rest of the workers should be on the otherside of the desk!"
"Simple things seem to be very complex here, quite annoying to deal with. Not to mention consistent human AND system errors. Apparently something to do with case managers always "leaving" come to think of it over the past 1.5 years I've not had one case manager see me more than 3 times. In the same amount of time. The TAFE muck-up. Then they basically implement their own courses because of it, which I was forced to attend because of work for the doll, also my choices were and I quote " Retail, Warehousing or lose my payments" so I "chose" Certificate 3 in retail which involved only paperwork and no actual training. I found 3 trial shifts by myself 1 of them leading to Employment. Another error happend where it was put down as full time work and I clearly explained it was casual work, leading to cancellation of my Youth Allowance. After a Month of casual work the hours stopped coming and I was forced back to this place. Compensation for uniform keeps being delayed and today is the third time they have asked me for the receipts in the past month, they keep claiming they don't have the tfn( they took photocopies everytime they asked for them) then they wanted my bank statement for my bsb and acc number which I got them the first time and again today. Someone also informed me that I could get compensation for excessive travel on public transport, well I would spend 3 hours to get there and back, that's 3 hours of my life wasted each time I went to work. Plus the financial cost. Which was never compensated for some bs unknown reason, perhaps the person just lied about it, they don't work there anymore anyway so it's not like they are accountable. If anyone is reading this and isn't registered with a job seeking business, I recommend asking Centrelink about alternate ways, as I'm pretty sure there is a way to job seek through Centrelink alone. Too late for me though. Edit: 2019, I'm going as far to say these guys are now detrimental to getting a job, I've had 3 jobs, and they have hounded me for payslips and updates constantly while employed (even while at work, disrupting my work), they were trying to gain their subsidiary payment (from centrelink) even though I'm working casually, I'm fairly certain that ain't legal. Job "providers" are constantly calling in "sick", which means less productivity, which means more suffering.... for everyone involved. Constantly being held back by "sorry (insert name here) isn't here today,we're going to have to re-schedule your appointment" so you are telling me I sat here for 30 mins just to be told that? wow. On top of all this, all my appointments consist of are "are you currently working?" "how is your job search going" "I'll just go get your Job plan" "sign here" "see you in 2 weeks". So sitting and waiting for sometimes up to 85 minutes just to be given a piece of paper which reminds me of my mutual obligations(which I already extensively know), it's not fun or productive in any way. The only saving grace is the receptionist who seems to be doing the absolute bulk of the work, answering phone calls, addressing job seekers and their appointments, fixing other job "providers" mistakes, fixing technical mistakes, re-scheduling appointments, even filling in for some appointments(while still being the receptionist), today she even took care of my DCSI and informed me on Police clearance, all the while with a cute smile on her face and a nice tone in her voice. I pity her job. Seriously, jobstatewide scored a diamond in the rough with that hire. Edit: Later that day, my Centrelink payments got cancelled due to me not attending my appointment, Which I definitely attended, called straightaway and who answers? the only person who seems to do any work around there, the receptionist. She took care of it. I would add stars just for her, but I judge on the whole."
"wish I could give 0 star. Always waiting for >30minutes, they make you wait and then say the person isn't there and to reschedule when you've been waiting for >30minutes.. They don't even update you on how long it will be. So if you don't ask you could be waiting forever before you're sent home.. Poor internal communication and poor communication with us aswell. Whole place is a mess. People aren't very nice. Very blunt and no empathy. The feel of the place is that you're in trouble and sent there to die.. Don't support this place. Don't waste your valuable time sitting there waiting for Godot."
"Long waiting times, not very good at keeping appointments. Lots of saying they will help but then don't seem to. Been with for a year now. Not found me a single full time job. Don't seem to even care. Get told not to need to go to an appointment for reason XYZ (aka you're working and you're already fulfilling your requirements) only to have them threaten to suspend your payments when you don't go to an appointment they already candled. They don't ever seem communicate internally so one hand doesn't know what the other hand is doing. VERY VERY POOR!"
