"We always seem to forget about the existence of this restaurant for some reason, but finally decided to make a point in trying it out again since it changed owner. We only ordered two dishes, plain prata and plain dosa, and a teh tarik half sugar. The teh was spot on, not too sweet. All of us enjoyed the dosa and prata, and the dahl and curry that came with them. Dosa was nice and crispy, and soft on the inside. The curries were flavourful. We will be back again to try their other dishes. One thing to improve perhaps is to make the toilet facility cleaner as people will be using it to wash their hands to eat the rotis. Update 28/08: The restaurant seems to be getting busier even though we were half an hour after they opened. The queue is quite long and due to lack of staff, tables were not cleared quickly. We ordered a few more items this time, the teh tarik, pratha and dosa were really nice as per the previous visit. I have finally found the place to have authentic Mamak stall mee goreng mamak so will definitely come back when I crave for one. We also ordered Nasi campur with chicken varuval and the veg. The nasi campur was quite disappointing, maybe I didn't like the veg however the chicken varuval was quite nice."
"A good portion of dishes for the nasi kandar. The dhal is good, fried chicken was tasty but there's a strand of hair in it, and the chicken masala was tasty. The mamak mee goreng was good, had a good char and tasted umami. But there's a small piece of chicken bone left in the chicken pieces so you do need to be careful if you think there's no bone in the noodles. We wanted to order mamak rojak but was told it was not available and then I wanted to order the mamak mee goreng then was told it'll take 20 min and wanted to ask me to order the nasi kandar instead which I didn't want to do I waited. It's odd given there's very little customers in the shop at the time as it's around 2pm. Then after we sat down the person taking my order asked if I ordered roti which we then said we got the noodles not roti although he did write it down. When we were leaving we also saw marinated raw chicken pieces uncovered in containers just sitting out on a table so it's quite concerning regarding their food safety too"
"Come here for the food and price, but the service is forgettable. Prompt in serving food, no crockery though. Finished all our meals and my 1 drink still hasn't arrived, after multiple asks. It only came after we're done with our meals, kids included."
"Legit Penang standard Indian food served here! I love the spicy varuval chicken so much. Edit: We were back again for lunch and definitely had more choices during the weekend."
"Just visited today. Now called Penang mamak. New management. Amazing south Indian fish curry with authentic sour taste. The cabbage also hit the spot. Prices are more affordable and food is definitely tastier."
