"We came here with the grandkids. Everyone is enjoying themselves. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food is good. The only thing is that they don't cater for coeliacs."
"It's not big, but it's relaxing, generally quiet and the staff are always happy to chat. There's lots of shows too. The crocs are back after an extended holiday at Australia Zoo. The kangaroos, wallabies & emu walk-thru enclosure is open again. If you live nearby an annual pass is a no-brainer. For under $135 for a family of 4, you can pop in for an hour or so, get the kids off their screens and eye-balling wildlife. If they want their screens, download an bird ID app and get them acquainted with the numerous native birdlife. Take a video of the koalas snoozing, platypus swimming, billbies hopping, etc and upload it to their YouTube channel."
"Such a shame that most animals were not able to be viewed - koalas, dingoes, wombats, tigers, tree monkeys, tortoises - we couldn’t see any of them (pens empty) so we walked around an almost empty park. We decided to have lunch and we’re charged $39 for 3 cans drink and a croissant. We got to see an emu, 2 pelicans and a brolga. Oh, and a handful of fish in the pond plus 1 small croc. We went to the bird show which was very very short and mostly about a parrot and an owl. It used to be so good here. Driving 3 hours round trip with traffic really just wasn’t worth it sadly."
"Great spot easy stroll around not far from hotels etc on the Gold Coast"
"A lovely few hours out! Beautiful entrance through the mangroves and animals are close and accessible. The opportunity to pat the emus, roos and wallabys is always great. Plenty of bird life and the staff are fabulous and happy to answer all questions. Very clean and well kept, including facilities with plenty of parking to be had. Plenty of places to sit and each lunch, so definitely take a packed lunch if you want to save the extra money (the coffee is great there though!)"
