About the Business
Welcome to Parafield Airport, located in the heart of the northern metropolitan area of Adelaide, Australia. This institution, which serves as an airport, establishment, and point of interest, offers a range of commercial, business, and retail development opportunities.
One of the highlights of Parafield Airport is the iconic Parafield Airport Control Tower, a magnificent example of art deco architecture. Built between 1938 and 1940 during World War II, this tower has also served as an operations-administration building and passenger terminal, adding to its historical significance.
With a rich history of aviation spanning over 90 years, Parafield Airport has been a hub for renowned pilots and aviation enthusiasts. It was originally South Australia's first Aerodrome from 1927 to 1955, and today it continues to be a vibrant environment for flying and aircraft and helicopter maintenance.
As a wholly owned subsidiary of Adelaide Airport Limited, Parafield Airport Limited acquired the operating leases for both Adelaide and Parafield Airports in May 1998. This ensures the operation of both airports for the next 50 years, with an option for a further 49 years, guaranteeing long-term stability and growth.
Parafield Airport offers various development opportunities, including aviation, retail, and other businesses. Its strategic location makes it well-placed to serve the north of Adelaide, providing convenience and accessibility to businesses and travelers alike.
Airspace management, including environmental impacts, is handled by Airservices Australia (AsA). AsA is also responsible for the Noise Complaint and Information Service, where all inquiries and complaints are recorded. Upon request, AsA staff will address any concerns raised by the community, reflecting our commitment to listening to and working with our neighbors.
At Parafield Airport, we acknowledge our role as custodians of the airport and understand the impact it has on the local area. While we may not have direct control over issues such as noise and flight paths, we take a proactive approach in understanding and empathizing with the concerns of our community. This commitment is reflected in our Corporate Vision, Mission, and Values.
Choose Parafield Airport for your commercial, business, or retail development needs, and join us in continuing the legacy of aviation excellence and community engagement. As a subsidiary of Adelaide Airport Limited, we are dedicated to providing a thriving and sustainable airport experience for the next 50 years and beyond.

"It doesn't even deserve to register on the star rating yet the government from local to federal all fell8 the port like it is the best of the best and without it the formerly great carntry of Orstraya would crumble into a communist heap. Reality is the port is owned by corporates, used by corporates all the while the horrible noise made by mostly foreign pilots training for grossly polluting carbon spewing airlines is rained down all over suburban households that were built on land that was once relatively peacefu. Day in day out and into the night, round and round like a horrid nightmare. Don't mention the leaded exhaust gasses either....ssshhhhh..."
"They don't deserve a star rating, wish I could put no stars. Parafeild airport is joke!! The staff and schools that work out of there are arrogant inconsiderate disrespectful and when you ring them up , they hang up on you... It's disgraceful how they hide behind the government cause of the money it brings into them.. 99% are student pilots from overseas and 90% of planes and helicopters are the disrespectful pilots from the FTA ... The noise is "CATASTROPHIC" People on the ground have different laws to the pilots in the sky it's a disgrace the how community has "NO SAY" on what goes on there.... " ITS ALL ABOUT MONEY ""
"The airport is loud and the noise is deafening to the pilots who say but the airport was here before you I agree but they didn’t start training pilots till 1982 after the houses where built and the people moved in and the airplane muffler was invented in 1919 so they are needlessly loud."
"Great airport and facilities. All those whinging about the noise, duh what did you expect? It's an airport, planes aren't quiet. The airport has been here a lot longer than the houses, so the people whinging chose to live here knowing full well there was an airport next door."
"Never been here or near here, and never care nor want to, after what Dank said about you. HOW DARE YOU DISRESPECT OUR DANK! In all seriousness, though, to those who say those who post (legitimate) reviews complaining about noise should move or shut up, and that the land was the airport's first, in Dank's video about this place he says that in the 50's the airport was built for smaller use, in the 60's and 70's urban areas and neighbourhoods expanded, and then the airport started doing laps. Also, some people can't afford to move out, as SA (specifically Adelaide) has been in a housing bubble. Finally, recreational planes have lead in their fuel, and before you say "but it's only a little lead," there is *no* "safe" amount of lead for humans, plus diesel soot stinks. So yeah, get a dog up ya Parafield."
