About the Business
Welcome to Peasants Paradice, located at 197 Brisbane Street in Perth, Australia. As an establishment, food, point of interest, and restaurant, we pride ourselves on celebrating the diverse culinary traditions of our ethnic backgrounds. While we may come from different cultures, we share the belief that there is something inherently nostalgic and comforting about peasant food.
There is a certain warmth and familiarity that comes from homemade dishes prepared by your mum or grandma, and that's exactly what we aim to bring to our food. Peasant food, to us, represents a multicultural fusion of affordable cuts of meat, overlooked produce, and dishes that carry the stamp of their heritage.
Prepare your taste buds for an explosion of big, bold spices and flavors, each with its own unique story and point of origin. Our shared philosophy revolves around providing value for money, ensuring that each dish is not only delicious but also affordable.
At Peasants Paradice, we believe in giving back to the community. That's why we have partnered with Homeless Health Care WA to raise awareness about the socio-economic issues impacting the homeless in Perth. We strive to change the mindset of our community, regular customers, and business owners towards those who are less fortunate, working together to make a difference.
With every event we host, our slogan "Can We Break Bread" becomes a reality, as part of our proceeds go towards supporting Homeless Health Care WA and their outreach programs. If you'd like to learn more about how you can contribute, please visit www.homelesshealthcare.org.au.

"This is a funky restaurant on the far side of Northbridge. There's a chilled vibe and the owner is very friendly and seems passionate about his food. There are some unique flavours included in the menu, including ones with influences from his heritage. We came for dinner, and it was a little on the late side, so the restaurant was quietening down. It was still a reasonable vibe inside. The standout dishes for me were the fish rillette (this was my number one). It was quite unique, really tasty, and had a great balance of flavours. It complemented the other entree-like fish we got - the oxtail hommus. That was also delicious. We also had the chicken, which was nice, but for me, not as unique (but was my partner's favourite). The letdown for us, however, was the dessert. It was simple, tasted ok, but was pretty small for the price. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience and I recommend you check it out."
"I ordered the chicken parfait Sambo, African doughnuts and oxtail with toast. Exciting food, layer on layer of spice without being spicy. So interesting and different to anything ive ever tasted. Add to that that the owner is just lovely. This is a phenomenal place. Thank you!"
"Interesting flavours in the food, not all the flavours worked together but points for creativity. A mix of African and indian. Service was great. A cool space but lighting could be dimmer."
"The food had some of the best and most incredibly balanced flavors I’ve ever eaten. All the vegetarian dishes are gorgeous. Definitely try the radicchio dish! (Omnivores were also delighted) The atmosphere is very relaxed and enjoyable. The staff is incredible. The interior design is gorgeous. Absolutely eat here. Am absolutely tempted to fly back from the USA just to eat here."
"A very interesting concept, which blends food and cuisines that were considered “peasants” food and upscales it to delicious shared plates. The menu is small but allows them to focus on doing these dishes well. Everything we ordered was delicious, lots of spices and flavours but the standouts for me were the oxtail curry puffs, shawarma spiced chicken, the cauliflower and the flank steak. Overall a good experience, although we thought it was also slightly pricey for so-called peasants food. Would still definitely recommend though so if you’ve been planning to try this place, don’t delay!"
