About the Business
Welcome to the Curtin Institute of Radio Astronomy (CIRA), located at Bentley, Turner Avenue, 1 in Australia. As an establishment and point of interest, CIRA is proud to be Curtin University's connection to the International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research (ICRAR). Our institution played a significant role in bringing the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) to Australia, and we are excited to collaborate with our partners to make this groundbreaking telescope a reality.
At CIRA, we are involved in a diverse range of projects in the field of radio astronomy. Our research encompasses various aspects of next-generation telescopes, including the Murchison Widefield Array (MWA), Australian Square Kilometre Array Pathfinder (ASKAP), and the SKA at the Murchison Radio-astronomy Observatory. To learn more about our research programs and the brilliant minds behind them, please explore the links provided.
One of the highlights of our work is the Aperture Array Verification System (AAVS1.5) and Engineering Development Array (EDA2) stations at the Murchison Radio-astronomy Observatory. This setup includes the SKALA 4.1 and "Bowtie" dipole antennas arranged in an SKA-low configuration. We have an informative video showcasing these impressive installations, giving you a glimpse into the cutting-edge technology we employ.
CIRA operates under the CRICOS Provider Code: 00301J and ABN: 99 143 842 569. We are also recognized by TEQSA under the code PRV12158. As an institution, Curtin University pays its respects to the indigenous members of our community by acknowledging the traditional Nyungar owners of the land on which we are situated. To witness our traditional Aboriginal welcome, we invite you to watch the provided video.

Reviews
"Chamila the receptionist here lacks any form of customer service and people skills. She is rude and completely intolerable. I've witnessed first hand the way she speaks to students at this facility and visitors and I feel this reflects bad on Curtin University and their core values and she should be addressed about this type of behaviour. Not an enjoyable working environment."
