"i was served instantly (about two minutes) after checking in - we did not book anything in advance. pathologist was friendly and when i requested the butterfly needle he was all good with it! the blood test was quick and easy :)"
"Laboratory, pathologist ,phlebotomist are friendly and efficient deserves Five stars. However, with the introduction of a new queueing system at PathWest Fiona Stanley Hospital branch. The System sucks causing extreme delays ,bottleneck even at off peak hours. Unfortunately, the new queueing system does not follow its intended queueing rule purpose (First in, First served sequential number). However the system is set to any of Other/ Unsure category base superseding Haematology categorization jumping the queue . Without exaggeration, I have experienced almost an hour in the waiting room seeing individuals arriving in and out way after me, being served up to a stage, I was the last remaining person at the waiting room. In my opinion a new technology is Great to introduce if it's researched & defined correctly. Or at least concurrently managed manually under trial by a delegated official based on prioritizinng sequential arrivals on queue. Alternatively, select the all available Options to secure your slot on arrival time. In any software system if you feed rubbish in, you get rubbish out, causing delays, impacting quality services with additional stress to patients."
"Visited last week with my son and partner, who is in a wheelchair. We waited over 20 minutes to be called. Once we entered the room the phlebotomist ask 'is it for him or the kid' pointing at both my partner and son. I informed her the pathology request was for my son and asked if she could be discreet as he doesn't like needles. She proceeded to ask questions directly to him and instructed me to sit on the chair with him. At this point he was red in the face absolutely freaking out. She then realised we need to move to the children's room. When we transferred there she told the other phlebotomist 'you're doing it. Not me' he then instructed me to hold my son down and demonstrated how to hold him still, prior to having any equipment ready. At this point he was distraught and screaming. The bloods took over 5 mins to draw and he is now left with a big haematoma."
"Our toddler had her first blood test taken. The staff were very friendly. Waiting time was long (understandably). The kids room was quite nice and our toddler didn't cry and had a positive experience. Thank you Pathwest FSH!"
