"I am obliged to write this as a Google Review to hold this store accountable for its actions. My husband visited the Palm Beach Pharmacy 3/04/2021 to purchase face masks in accordance with the QLD Government mandate for all citizens to wear face masks from 1/04 to 15/4. The product he purchased was being charged at $20.00 for 10 face masks! The package is a chemist paper bag, containing the 10 face masks, which has been folded and given a sticker stating the price and code. Clearly, this pharmacy has taken a large box of face masks, packaged them to look like a pharmacy product and then charged them at an ENORMOUSLY inflated price. In these uncertain times, our community needs to work together to STOP the spread of COVID, however this pharmacy demonstrates a horribly opportunistic act which puts even more pressure on a community already under great strain. We, as humans, face this pandemic together and it only separates us when businesses like this use a time when their community is in crisis to benefit financially. These actions fly in the face of all the people working hard (often without fair remuneration) to care for, treat and help people in need during COVID, people who make our community stronger and more connected through their actions. Face masks are so cheap to distribute. The 3ply type this pharmacy is selling is available for approximately $9.00 for 50 - which makes each facemask a cost price of 18cents, even with a 100% mark-up, these masks should be charged at 36cents each, making a 10 pack $3.60. Not the $20.00 fee they are currently charging. This pharmacy has permanently lost our family as customers for life, together with all of our friends and family. The right thing to do now would be to return to us the $16.40 we believe is fair, and then re-barcode the 10 3ply facemask at a fair price of $3.60 for 10 (even selling them $5.00 for 10 to cover staffing costs, rent, etc) This is beneficial to the business financially and would take a positive step forward in supporting your community in a fair and decent way. Choosing to continue selling them to YOUR community at this price is absolutely shameful."

"Lairds Palm Beach pharmacy have been my chemist for years. I've found all their staff to be friendly and helpful. I'm amazed at some comments from a while back where people say they are rude and arrogant. I get all my scripts made there and they always 'lend' me one if a script has run out. My diabetes tester stopped working the other day and they took the battery out, tried to get it going then gave me the number to ring to get a new one. I didn't have my NDS (or something) number so they got it off my Medicare card and then i got the tester strips provided at no charge. Also a good recommendation for Rainbow Butchers at Currumbin. It's sort of like a little family in a way. The new store is way bigger and inside Coles entrance so you can park downstairs, get the lift up and it is so easy."
