Additionally, this reserve is also part of the Marino Rocks Greenway, connecting the City to the Coast to Vines Rail Trail. The Marino Rocks Greenway offers a scenic route for walkers, cyclists, and nature enthusiasts to enjoy the stunning views and natural surroundings.

The Oaklands Estate Reserve group, formed in 2014, has taken on the task of preserving and enhancing the Oaklands biodiversity corridor as its first project. Already, the impact of their efforts can be seen and enjoyed by both the local community and the diverse range of plants and animals that call this area home.

Exciting developments are underway at Oaklands Estate Reserve. Stage 2 of the construction, beginning on 18th February 2019, will introduce new playground equipment, additional picnic shelters and BBQ areas, upgrades to pathways, and improvements to the Japanese Garden. Please note that the Hendrie Street Reserve Inclusive Playground in Park Holme will be temporarily closed from Monday 11th February 2019 to Friday 15th February 2019 for line-marking and pavement graphics.

We are committed to continuously improving Oaklands Estate Reserve. Stage 1 of the upgrade includes the installation of shelters and BBQ facilities, the redevelopment of the dryland creek into a nature play area, and the addition of nature play equipment. Pathways and retaining walls are also being constructed to enhance accessibility and aesthetics.

Once completed, Oaklands Estate Reserve will be a regional playground that incorporates recreation and picnic facilities, play opportunities, pathway connections, and beautiful landscaping. The construction is being carried out in two stages to ensure parts of the reserve remain open during the process, from October 2018 to June 2019.

We are excited to announce that the second stage of the Oaklands Recreation Plaza has now been completed. The plaza now boasts an iconic rotunda with an amphitheater, picnic facilities, a trike path, a 3 on 3 basketball court, and a netball ring. Please be aware that during the construction of Oaklands Recreation Plaza Stage 2, the wooden decked pathway on the western side of the site will be closed.
