About the Business
Welcome to Miss Chow's South Perth! Located at 39 Mends Street, our Asian inspired eatery and dumpling house is a must-visit for those looking for a unique and delicious dining experience. We pride ourselves on our focus on quality and the creativity of ingredients, while also maintaining a strong bond to cultural heritage, traditional cooking methods, and techniques.
Our story begins with Mr Moon Chow, an adventurous young man who traveled from China to seek his fortunes in Western Australia during the gold rush. While waiting for news, Mr Moon Chow crafted delicious dumplings that reminded him of his home. These dumplings soon became a local favorite, eagerly awaited by the market-goers for their exotic and tasty flavors.
One fateful evening, Mr Moon Chow crossed paths with a sweet and kind woman from France. It was love at first sight, and over a plate of dumplings, they shared stories and laughter. They eventually married and had a daughter who learned the secret recipe of the scrumptious dumplings.
Today, in our beautiful and modern Chinoise-style setting, Miss Chow brings to you these famous dumplings. Pair them with a glass of French champagne for the perfect combination of flavors.
Our restaurant deco is modern and inviting, and our staff is super friendly and well-trained. Miss Chow's offers a cozy and warm atmosphere, especially during the cold seasons. We even have a special Chinese kids meal, and we pride ourselves on not using MSG in our food. However, we do understand that some guests prefer less salt in their dishes.
Whether you're dining alone or with a group, Miss Chow's is the perfect place to enjoy a delicious meal. If you're planning to visit us on a weekend night, we recommend booking in advance to secure your table. Our restaurant is suitable for all ages, and we welcome guests of all backgrounds.
Don't just take our word for it, here's what some of our satisfied customers have to say: "I'm so pleased and really felt welcome. When the food comes, absolutely delicious." "Miss Chow's captures the sophisticated taste of authentic Chinese dining." "Great vibe with super fresh ingredients and fantastic wonton soups." "Fabulous dumplings and wantons. Food is just as good at home as it is in the restaurant."

Reviews
"Miss Chow's South Perth. Trendy, river views. And good food. A somewhat rare find to have that trifecta in Perth. We forgot to book. Yet they accommodated a sizeable table including some rather naughty young children. The Maitre'd friendly, accomodating and tolerant. And family friendly. So how was the food? Mostly very good. The tofu entree is usually lovely. Light crispy batter enveloping silken tofu with a light seasoning. Truffled edamame was fresh and well cooked. Ceviche with beetroot also delightful although the rather small serving lasted. only one pass around the table. Shanghai dumplings are one of Miss Chow's strengths. Delicious, quality pork broth and filling. Regular steamed dumplings perhaps not quite the same... and not dissimilar to the pre-made Miss Chow's frozen dumplings in flavour or taste. As for mains? If you like Sambal, the prawns were moorish and fresh. The Green curry went very well with rice although we thought frying the barramundi that went in it made it a little greasy. We're not too fond of the fryer but that's a personal preference. So similar comments relate to the tooth fish and kung pan chicken. Black bean "camel" very popular. Delicious vegetables and camel, which was similar to lean, tenderised beef in a non-spicy, classic black bean sauce. Truffled fried rice a tad heavy on the truffle essence but was very well liked by one of our foodie dining partners. Overall? Lovely ambience and service. Gorgeous river views. Most diners appeared to be professionals or on a date. Solid 4 to 4.5 out of 5."
"Miss Chows amazing.. service was amazing, food was fantastic and arrived fast. The service was great. Shout out to Sean the staff member who got us three. His humour and service was fantastic. Thank you Tony for your hospitality we will be back."
"We paid for the location only! Not recommended: Butter black pepper beef. It spoiled Australian beef name! Steam dumplings and Roast duck spring rolls are very “simple”! Recommended: Silken tofu w truffle mayonnaise. Staff is helpful. Toilet is clean."
"Love the decor. The food was absolutely delicious. The cocktail and wine recommended by the manager was perfect. Cant wait to come again. Definitely recommend for a great night out. Big bonus is that its dog friendly too."
